Do you want it to look good and clean, or garage-sale style??

Yes, paint and blend the entire area.

Because squirters take away from the smooth look. Besides have you ever used your squirters, all they do is screw up your paint (if you dont clean that solution off your car fast). CustomAcuraCL (think its him) has his shaved and they look good.

Yes you would need the whole hood repainted and probably need to blend the fenders

take out the squirters, and relocate the line to the side of the car or front, then you could squirt other cars when they drive pass you...heehee... just a thought.

If you want it to look good, you should have it painted and blended. The paint behind the emblems has not been exposed to the elements such as sunlight, and it not faded like the rest of the car. You may still see a "shadow" of the emblems.

No, but I think what he's saying is that you wouldn't NEED a magnifying glass to see the difference in paint color.

There's another good reason not to de-badge!

If you debadge your trunk...all you have to do is go to Pep Boys..look up the paint color that your car is...buy a $3 can of spray paint...spray it on..and buff it in...its that simple...took me 15 minutes

Some people like the clean trunk look, others (like me) prefer to flaunt our "Acura" and "3.0CL"!

As for the color change, it depends on how long the emblems have been on there, what color the car is, how much its been in the sun, how much you wax it, etc., etc., etc. Some people can pull them off and they're good to go. Others look so obvious with the shadow of "Acura" and "3.0CL" that it looks hideous until they repaint.

Since I like the badges on there anyway, I was just saying that if you don't want to take the chance on having to repaint, leaves the emblems alone.

I just de badged my 97 green CL and at first you could see the difference in the color but I took some wax and buffed the area and it looks fine, I used someones else idea of using a hairdryer to loosen up the sticky stuff that holds it on and they came off. There is really no need to repaint the trunk unless it looks aweful for some reason.

I agree! Unless you plan on taking off the "A" from the trunk, there's no reason you'll need to paint it (unless you screw it up). I took the "ACURA" off from the left side of my CL and replaced it with "A-C-U-R-A" (2nd Gen style) across the trunk. I also removed the chrome "3.0CL", and replace it with the Gold "3.0CL". Did the same for the "A". All I needed to do was wax the area where the "ACURA" was, and it looks fine (can't tell anything was there). Make sure it's warm or heated before attempting to debadge! If you remove the "A", you'll have 2 small holes in your trunk (unless you "patch" them; then you'll need to repaint).

As for the washer nozzles, I have no clue!

Well see the only reason I spray painted the portion where my badges were is because my car got keyed...and my friends dad used the spray paint + buffer to fix the key mark around my whole car...and since we had it out..he used it where my badges were..it looks normal..can't even tell i was keyed/debadged...

you dont necesarily have to paint the whole hood and trunk if you go to a good enough place theres a couple near me in CT they can paint the small area and blend it and you wont even notice a difference as for my trunk my emblems were there for 2.5 years I took em off and you couldnt tell the diff until some asshole keyed my shit up

I just debadged earlier this week. Used a heat gun, and some dental floss. Then I used Goo-Gone and some compound to get rid of the residue and random scratches i created. Make sure to wax the area if you use chemicals like I did afterwards because they strip the wax...plus after you buff you probably won't see much of a shadow from where the emblems were. Of course I didn't take the "A" off. But after starting at the trunk, I realized that I'd actually like a "red A" logo, or maybe a red A that lights up with my brakes. I know its rice, but the white and Red look in the back is kinda nice (matches the tail lights).
