shaking from engine on driver side

Hey guys, I need some help. My engine is shaking a little bit when idle or in drive with the brakes on. It is not a consistent shaking/vibrating but it is more like a couple of jolts every couple of seconds. I have replaced all the plugs, air filter, oil, tryed fuel injector cleaner, and used super octane gas a couple of times. Could it be the fuel filter? or fuel pump?
I think I can change the fuel filter myself, but don't know about the fuel pump. Any help would be appreciated.

The shaking I am experiencing is not normal.
I have had the car for over 2 year now. It use to be hard to tell if the car was started or not because it would be so quite. As for the motor mounts. Do you know where I would look to see whether or not they need to be replaced?

you gotta jack it up or put it on a lift to see the mounts. Is it your engine actually moving? Or i it like a shaky idle?

It is more like a shaky idle. When I pop the hood to try an locate where it is coming from I can't see the engine shaking.

Does anyone have any scanned images showing how to change the motor mounts? If not can anyone tell me what it is I am looking for under the engine to see if it is in fact the motor mounts? Acura wants to charge me $95 an hour labor and minumim of 2 hours just to check it out.

Hollycrap! They want $200 for those cables. I don't know why they are so expensive. Other car cables or only $40-$60.

if you apply the brakes and it shakes...thats warped rotors

idle shaking is normal especially when the engine is cold, do you have a 2.2/3 or 3.0? shaking idle probably more common in the 2.2/3's

or motor mounts..

Don't be calling me a dickhead. Misunderstanding no problem. Thanks for helping me out. It is more like a shaking from the engine every couple of seconds. I am curious about the motor mounts. I am going to be pissed if I change the ignition wires and it doesn't solve the problem. Thanks again for your help.

Does anyone know how to increase the idle speed? Maybe my car is idling too low. The car doesn't shake when it is moving.

Does anyone discribe to me what the motor mounts look like and what I would be looking for? i.e. cracked, lose screws, etc. Thanks in advance.

yea, that's a little low, however that's where mine idles at sometimes now until I give it a little jab of gas then it goes to around 700-800 and all is normal.

Maybe it is the cables. What are the symptoms when it is the motor mounts?

Yeah, its no problem when I give it a bit of gas. I am going to do a search on increasing the idle speed to see if I can find something. Thanks again.

i would bring it to acura or any honda/acura mechanic to adjust. i have a shitty chilton's repair guide and it has 2 symptoms to engine shaking while idling.

1) Check for loose, collapsed, or damaged engine or tranny mounts.

2) Check for loose or damaged engine covers or shields and secure or replace.

Thanks for all your help. I am going to get under the car and see if I can see anything. The problem is that it is intermittent. I took it to Acura and the f*cking motor didn't shake at all. Take it home and it starts shaking like crazy again.

to see if it's the motor mount open the hood and try to stand on the engine as best you can and try shacking it. I seriously doubt it's your mounts

i also doubt its the mounts. mounts would be worse at accelleration. change the wires and if that wasent the prob, im very sorry. u cannot change the idle. it has a set screw in the t/b.
u could make sure the timing is right on. as a car gets older the belts gets looser causing a retard of abour .5 deg. which is just enough to eat gas and run alittle rough. however i would change the plug wires first.
