thought I was gonna go for the G35 but I just thought about it realistically...this car is waay outta my budget and I would be busting my ass for some car that looks good but just about every joe schmo down the block has one already so I'm thinkin of goin for the sr-4 instead. It's quicker and in my budget...only factors are questionable is it's reliability and the looks which is unappealing. Anyone know who has one and what did they say about it?

Those SRT-4's are some quick little buggers, but when it all boils down it's still a neon. I have heard alot of good stuff about them and nothing about any reliability problems. If you want something compact, sporty, and looks good. Go for a black RSX with a turbo. That would be shizzle.

Well this is the last year for the SRT4. Just remember. No matter what they call it and what you do to it. Its still a neon..

I was looking at buying one, then i smacked myself and then asked myself "what the f am i doing buying a domestic, let a lone a neon"...

Plus the part that really bothers me about that car. pretty much killed getting one. The back windows you have to roll up manually. What kind of shit is that?
I know its small, but when you have a 4 door you want to put all the windows down when its nice out. You cant unless you get out and roll them down manually...GHEY

 

BTW, car and driver compared the Cobalt SS, SRT4, WRX, and the RSX. The rsx won. They said it wasnt the fastest, but it was the best car of the three. They said the SRT4 was fast, but not comfortable at all. They said that on a long trip your ass will be hurtin.

obviously majority here sticks with the hondas....let me just point out that my fist car was a 00 prelude SH and yes the car rides smooth and handles good but not even a year after I owned it I ended up hating the car and sold it. Y? because like ALL hondas ..NO low end torque!! I literally had to beat on it off of every stop light even though I wasn't racing. I thought of the RSX instead but than again car lacks torque and won't b mush of a difference. As for luxury..the cl I'm driving right now has nice leather n wood trim but when I drive it all those key factors about the car is gone when I realize how slow n crappy the car feels plus I'm not exactly gettin any pat on the back for driving a acura.
Sure I think goin for a neon is a downstep class wise but since I can't afford "class" right now might as well go for the other end...."cheap speed" at least I would be wippin by all those G35s and CL's out there.

i didn't know the srt4 was that cheap, but if you happen to raise your budget to 24-25k you should seriously check out an 05 legacy gt. keep in mind insurance costs. i'm sure the srt-4 will be way more then what you paid for the cl. maybe not. you're not exactly a young punk kid who crashes these things everyday. good luck with everything
