I've had my eye on a set of Recaros for a long time. We had some at my old shop and they were ridiculously comfortable and fit me well. Just don't have the money, so I've been checking eBay every few days for a set of cheaper used ones. I'm just worried about getting a fake set; the last thing I need is to get killed because my seat fell apart in an accident.
Do you have pictures of your custom interior as it is? I dug up some of your old threads but all the pictures are broken.

I can vouch for those, theyre basically identical to my SRD, just the replacement under a new name, and im pretty sire its the same style Recaros that ate in the JDM ITRs

hell I figure ill just go and say it now, since ive got nothing better to do, this is for the Recaro reclinables (specifically the SRD, and im sure the speed as well, since I did ALOT of research on them before I went and met the guy to buy mine), im sure the race buckets are more-or-less the same, but here goes
1) the reclining knob should be a triagle with rounded out sides/faces. . . kinda like the shape of a rotary motor's rotor except more rounded at the edges
2) the release knobs (to flip the seat forwards to let people into the back) on the sides should have RECARO stamped into them, it should be on both knobs
3) down on the part of the reclining knob, there should appear something with the trademarks, "Keiper Recaro GMBH&CO" something along those lines
4) on the bottom, Recaros have a piece of brown webbed material with black rubber supporting strips, suspended by metal hooks on the seat sides, with the cushion on that, there should be no signs of plywood or anything like that
5) there should be 3 hardened bolt points on either side for mounting to a slider, the front two should be 1" apart, and there will be a third on the back, 9" down from the closest other bolt point
worse comes to worse, you just take the serial number, and call it into Recaro for verification, but if that option isnt available, take the above steps
if you want I can post pics of the stuff im talking about later

Don't be afraid to be different...I say go with Status They make some KILLER stuff, and their seats start at $450 each, which isn't horrible. Check here for some pics:

If you want to go cheaper, look into some Momos, I've always like their stuff. And if you can find a set, I second the ITR Recaros They're gorgeous.

MOMOs are also nice, not quite as comfortable as the Recaros though.

go to a junkyard and get some bmw seats.
weld the rails from the beem.
i love the seats in the newer models.
everything else is too sporty for our car...
i mean really... i beat a hyundai yesterday and then got spanked by a old benz.
