Wink School Project

ok guys, tuesday is my first day of school. We are supposed to have this thing called a senior project. So I got to thinking, well this may be my only chance to have my parents help me out a lil bit with my car. I want to buy a JDM H22A V-tec. Does $2100 sound bad for an engine with everything and 40,000 miles on it? Or sould I go to a junk yard and pay like $400 for everything, that might have more on it? So my project would have me consist of taking it apart, measuring, cleaning the block and head. Than buy new cams, gears, pistons, rods, rings, oil pan, bearings, gaskets, timing belt. Than with that all completed I can go buy a turbo, intercooler, wastegate, BOV, and put it all in the CL. Than custom make an adapter from a set of headers to the turbo, custom piping for intercooler. Upgraded fuel delivery, and ignition (I only need an ignition box, got everything else). Than once it's in add the boost controller, VAFC, and oil pressure gauge, and boost gauge.
This is more like a wish list, that I wanted to share with everybody. But the H22 build-up will happen FOR SURE this school year. Wut do u guys think about that?

oh I go to tahoma, out here in WA. I was also reading a thread on honda-tech, saying that the F22 is one of the strongest motors, and all i have to do to boost it is get forged aluminum pistons. so do u think I could do that, than boost, than once I get out of school, drop the H22 in? because now that I think of it, alls I would have to do is take out the turbo kit, maybe customize a turbo manifold for the h22 and vola I got a turbo'ed h22

that might be a quicker option. you can boost the F22 on stock internals, but your
plan would be better in the long run. good luck, sounds pretty cool

I boosted my Fdouble-deuce for my senior project. Worked well. Ran it that way for four years, not a hint of problem. And I was running 10psi.

Can you boost the F22/23 with an accord kit or do you pretty much have to get something custom built?

In my opinion, unless done right and perfect, turbo vtec is like trying to breed a troll with an elf.....

well guys, I hate to dissappoint u, but I priced out the turbo and engine alltogether. With all the stuff I would need/want to get it would be over 10G. So I'll juss do suspension, exhaust, igntion. So once i get out of high school and start working full time. I'll put my money away and get everything there. I'd rather do it right the first time. So I'll juss put it on hold for about a year. Plus I get a raise here soon!!
