Scan Error "Cyclers are missfire"

I went to mechanic and put my car in scanner, and Bom! I got errors
-----------------------
Cyclinder 1 missfire
Cyclinder 2 missfire
Cyclinder 3 missfire
Cyclinder 4 missfire
-----------------------
I have new sparkplugs, cables, dist. cap and rotor, intake maniford cleaning and injector cleaning and new timing belt and water pump. The mechanic told me the problem is from fuel pump.

Is anyone got this message before ? Car runs fine but between 1500/2500rmp car is shaken like engine sound get rough and muffler sound change.

You guys recomment me to get change fuel pump replaced ?

I really need advise

Thanks for the answers!

I recommend cleaning your egr valve and then reprograming your ecu. A bad/clogged egr valve will cause preignition and detonation.

To clean it, simply spray carbuerator cleaner into it and to reset your ecu, just unplug your negative terminal for about 10 min.

Is your check engine light on?

What was his reasoning for the fuel pump???

Check engine light was off because bulb is out (I learned yesterday night). He said there is no enough gas going engine so it make that shake! I did not really believe him because I dont have problem even when I drove 100mph, how come there is not enough fuel in engine when I drive 40rpm to make that shake.

If unplugg the (-) from battery for 10min, ecu will be reset right ?

make sure ur fuel pressure regulator is plugged in. its a vaccume line. change the fuel filter first, its alot cheaper and prolly needs to be done anyways. if that doesent work then change the pump.

How about we start over. Shake????

Tell us the symptoms, and what you were going in for. How was the bulb out? Did he show it to you? So now that you have a new bulb, is the check engine light on? How many miles does your car have? If you have fuel problems, and the only thing he can come up with was that you have a bad fuel pump, then sorry to say, but he sucks. Kind of like the mechanics that tell you, you need to replace your o2 sensor whenever they a code for it on the scanner . There are MANY other factors that could lead to your fuel problems if you ARE having them. Ask him what the code number was. And why did he hook it up to the scanner if no check engine light was on? I'll give you a list of things you can do to help you out, but I just want more details of the situation, and the kind of mechanic your dealing with.

Anyways, back to the missfiring problem. You said you got new spark plugs, correct? Well if that is the case, then you should check the spark plugs. What kind did you get? Where did you have it done?

I think you just have the wrong gap in your spark plugs. Let me give you an example: If you have 4 new spark plugs installed, and the required voltage neccessary to jump a specific gap less than what the available voltage the spark plugs have, than that would lead to missfiring. All misfiring is, is the inability of the ignition to jump the gap or the inability to maintain the spark. From the looks of it, and a bit of common sense from the info that was provided to me from you, it seems like those 4 new spark plugs and the 4 cylinder missfires you have all come together.

Check the gap on your plugs, I bet you that is your problem. Regap them!

Yea, I know I alawys write freakin essays for my responses, haha, my bad. But there always seems to be a need to write them. Just trying to look at the big picture, and give my opinions from what I understand the scenario is.

I have Bosch Platinum+4 spark plugs. It does not require gap adjusment.

Tomorrow I will clean the EGR and reset the ECU.

How can I find the fuel filter ? where is it located ? I can try to replace it too.

car has 120k, 5speed.

what we are saying, is maybe they(the shop, or whom ever did the install) put the plugs in wrong...regap them or have them checked.

with 120k and if you never changed your fuel filter, then yes, that's something you want to change thus being why you might have fuel problems. But as for the misfiring, CHECK THE PLUGS....

if ur lookin at the engine from the front of the car the fuel filter is on the right side on the back firewall. looks like a small coffee can or a can of veggies w/no label on it.

After market coil cost $100 and will be stock and no extra power.

thanks shineynitelite,
I decided to get these;
-------------------------
MSD 6A Ignition
MSD Blaster Coil
MSD Honda/Acura Modified Distributor Caps
MSD Acura/Honda Super Conductor Ignition Wires 8.5 mm
Cost about $300 in Jegs.
------------------------
Is anybody try these before ? Is it really worth to spent extra $200
Is gain noticiable ?

Need some feedback friends!!!...

Thanks...

the stock ignition is MORE than enough spark for the car. its a waste of money unless you have some considerable mods to rectify it. Oh and i recommend you chech out the ICM and coil and also the O2 sensor. its probly one of those three things

heres what the acura service manual has to say....

probible cause

fuel injector clogging, fuel leakage, air leakage. -- i would change the fuel filter for this.

fuel injector circuit open or shorted.--get a fuel injector tester pin. 5$ lights up when ur injector opens. test all the injectors.

spark plug carbon deposits, fouling, malfunction.-- put the old plugs back in or buy REGULAR ELCHEEPO'S

ignition wires open, leaking -- make sure the plastic end that goes into the valve cover doesent have any arking marks. looks like a teeny tiny firecracker went off next to it. spot will be bout twice the size of the (.)

distributor malfunction-- again make sure everything's aiit. take a screw driver and scrape off all the carbon on the posts and file the rotor alittle bit. if this step fixes it then replace both.

compression low -- least likley. but u could do a compresseio test. the testers are bout 15$ and are easy as hell to use.. make sure u remove all the plugs before doing this test or u will come up with low compression on all cylinders.

valve clearance out of specs. -- usually if ur valves arent chattering then this is not an issue.

good luck.. i dont think its te coil pack as the rest are firing ok.
