RIP 1st Genner

This happened in my city just two nights ago. The eeriest part about the whole thing was that I saw the driver who died for the first time about a week ago at the carwash, waxing his CL, which just happens to be the same exact model as mine. I beeped, and gave him a thumbs up which he returned, and now he's dead.

FITCHBURG -- Police say a 17-year-old, male Fitchburg High School student found dead in the woods Saturday morning is the driver of a car that rolled over on Crawford Street Friday night.

"We are treating this as an accident right now," Fitchburg Police Chief Robert DeMoura said.

A press release from the office of Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. identified the driver as Daniel Meier of 35 Pearl St., Fitchburg. The release states that Meier's body was found by 18-year-old Jonathan Diaz of 56 Railroad St., Fitchburg, who was a passenger in the vehicle.

A press release from the Fitchburg Police Department states DeMoura had met with the family of the deceased student on Saturday.

Police detectives, crash reconstruction specialists, State Police crime scene technicians and members of the State Medical Examiners Office are involved in the investigation of the crash, according to the release.

The driver flipped his car, a black, 1997 Acura, on Crawford Street about a half a mile from where his body was later found, in a wooded area near a river about 300 yards away from the road, the press release states. Witnesses said the car had been traveling "close to 100 miles per hour" before the crash, according to the release.

It hasn't been determined whether or not alcohol was a factor, according to the release.

The accident happened about 8:40 p.m. Friday night, when the car flipped after being seen passing other cars at a high rate

of speed, DeMoura said. The car was headed into Leominster at the time of the accident, he said.
Two cars stopped to assist after the accident, but the two males and two female passengers in the rolled-over car got into a confrontation with the people in those cars, DeMoura said.

The four people then scattered, he said, all taking off in different directions. DeMoura does not know why the four people, including the driver, ran away after the accident.

"They are young," he said. "I don't know."

Police found three of the four people from the rolled-over car and searched the woods, DeMoura said. State Police in Leominster supplied a police dog and Fitchburg firefighters brought a thermal imaging camera to help find the driver Friday night, DeMoura said.

Diaz went into the woods Saturday morning and found the driver lying on the ground near the river, according to the release.

Diaz went to Gettens Electric Supply Company at 50 Crawford St., and asked the employees inside for help, said John Bourque, a Gettens employee.

"He was distraught," Bourque said.

Two Gettens employees went into the woods with Diaz and others called police, Bourque said.

Bourque said Meier was dead when the Gettens employees got to him in the woods.

DeMoura said the driver tried to follow the river back and may have become disoriented before succumbing to internal injuries. An exact cause of death is not known, DeMoura said.

DeMoura declined to state if the driver or anyone else in the car was wanted by police prior to the accident.

"Two cars stopped to assist after the accident, but the two males and two female passengers in the rolled-over car got into a confrontation with the people in those cars, DeMoura said." That part is kinda iffy

yeah somethin fishy about that. I dont know how running away from an accident to temporarily avoid consequences is better than seekin medical attention.

damn, at first i thought you were talking about your car from looking at the title. but still its his own fault by going about 100. thats why im pretty anal when people get into my car and don't put on their seat belts.

p.s. im suprised that nobody said about seeing about his grill.

wow
if he was going 100 mph and then crashed, i'm sure he was more than a bit shooken up.
and if drugs and alcohol was involed, then that's probably why he overreacted and ran... such a sad story to hear though

a 100 mph crash doesn't need to have drugs or alcohol involved to cause enough trauma to fully distort ones sense of reality and whats right and wrong. its much like PTSD in soldiers. this kid probably thought he was going to die if he stayed by his car and out of pure delusion//hallucination ran from it in search of some magical thing that would save him.

Man, why don't you just shut the fuck up? I didn't post this thread so that ignorant fucks like you could bash a kid who lost his life before he even hit 20 because he made one bad decision.

Grow the fuck up and think about shit before you post. Thanks.

was this directed towards me? fuck you too man, you ever lost someone because of a drunk driver? you want to tell me to shut the fuck up when my best friend who was 15 years old at the time got killed by a drunk driver? you want to tell me to shut the fuck up when two more of my friends who were 17 and 18 were run off the road by a drunk driver and killed on impact with a tree? i have no fucking respect for drunk drivers because of this. ive lost 3 people who were very close to me because of peoples bad decisions. have you ever lost anyone youve been close to? im at 10 people right now, and im 19 years old. 6 of those that died were under the age of 19. so yeah, i know a lot about the loss and hurt thats associated with those losses. if you were in my place, and had human emotions, youd probably feel the same way.

he didnt make one bad decision, he made multiple ones.
1. no DD for the night
2. driving drunk WITH INNOCENT PASSENGERS
3. going over 100 mph on a public road
4. running from the scene of the accident for god knows what reason

yes, its incredibly sad that he died, noone deserves to die that young, ever, and i hope he rests in peace, but, it is his own fucking fault and for that i have no sympathy. empathy for his family, yes , but no sympathy.

Yes, I have a cousin who was hit and killed in broad daylight by a drunk driver.

All I'm saying to you is if you're going to make such a bold statement, you should have said that shit before, instead of coming off like it doesn't suck to die young, regardless of bad decisions.

/discussion.
