RIMS offset question

would a 4x114.3 with a +40 offset fit on the 1st gen no problem?

I need new rims, and I dont' want to buy them online without having them fit on properly....

Looking into Motegi MR7....going cheap cuz I'm not a bank

the motegi's are really heavy I was thinking about getting those first but then I saw how much they weigh... waht is it 27lbs per rim? or something that is way to much.

what size rims are you getting? 18x7.5 should use around a +42-45mm if I recall correctly. Im not sure how +40mm will fit... it might not... actually.

so 17" rims with +40 offset won't work? -_-

I don't want to get 18's, cuz the price jumps from 17" to 18"...

17" rims are cheap, so I want those....so find offset +42 to +48? Those are the ones that fit right?

What rims have that? Can you name some nice looking, cheap rims that fit? I'm open for anything but stock.

+42,+45 is optimal. 40 and over 45 will cause problems.

Offset is actually different depending upon the width of the rim.
a 17x7 with 40mm is not the same as a 17x7.5 with 40mm. just like a 18x7.5 and 18x8 would be different. The wider the rim the more will be inside the wheel well and more will stick out if the offset is the same. it will be about 6mm more in each direction. Im debating wheter or not to cancel my order of 17x7.5 40mm and special order 17x7 40mm. they would be lighter also

What is the stock offset on the 16x6s? +44???

Oh and lets not forget about backspace. This varies between rims so without knowing that the width vs offset calculations are not gauranteed to be true. Usually manufactures keep this in mind when they list applications, but i would find out.

I, personally have 18x7.5 +44 offset. Had a little problems with my car real low but I raised it up a bit and no problems to this date.

225/40/18 Only went with that tire size because the tires are rated to support the heavyness of the car. This is my drop currently with 18"s. Its lowered around 2.75"-3" Personally, I'd get 225/40 with 18"s
