Rev limiter?
Rev limiter?
I taped the pee-shooter exhaust to see how it sounded from the outside. (haven't A/D'd it yet) Anyway, I noticed that the engine seemed to miss when she hit around 5500rpms. I haven't had any trouble with it, no codes, just a curiocity if this was normal to the J30a1.
The engine was cool, but not cold. And I noticed that it would imediately not miss when the rpms fell below 5500 again.

I only found out about the N rev limit because I was curious what my "pee-shooter" exhaust sounded like. I have never reved it over 4000 before out of gear. So, I learned what it would do if I did. Sounded OK, but kind of raspy. I am looking at an exhaust system but I have to save the money.
Thanks again.
Oh, as for top speed, Wilp99 claimed to have pushed "Precious" to over 130+. I've pushed to 120 and had plenty of pedal left over.
what about this kid

The car is in gear and has not yet reached 5500 anyway. the Nutral Rev Limit is to stop your engine from blowing up if the pedal were to get stuck... I've been doing some additional research. The setting can be changed in the ecu using the Honda ECU Scanner. I read also that if you have certain PDAs with the correct software and adapters... You can both monitor and tune the ecu. That is pretty neat stuff.
Oh, as far as I have found, there is NO speed governor on the 1st Gen CLs. And I am certain they would have set it low like on my brother-in-law's Escort GT 5 speed. It peters out at 115 or 120mph, I can't remember.

i pinned it,but none of the pics came out due to the fact i just pointed and shot.(didn't want to take my eyes of the road). i do 120 regularly, but can't pin it regularly cuz after 120 she kinda sluggish due to o/d.
i did 135 in mom's accord. do accord's have a top speed limiter cuz at 135 she cut out?(it's a 94 lx)
