Resonator sizes & noise

Sorry if this has been posted before but I'm looking for an explicit explanation... What is the difference between an 18" resonator and a 22" resonator noise wise? I'm thinking about getting my exhaust redone w/ headers and I was gonna replace the piping/resonator. Right now I've got an 18" resonator on there and it sounds nice but it's a little loud for the neighbors late at night and I'm just curious if a 22" resonator is going to be a lot quieter or just barely noticeable?

im not to sure on the resonator question, but i recommend spending a few more bills on a DC sports ceramic.

jebus, i hate loud cars. my friend ran without a muffler for a month and that was annoying as shit riding in his car, driving behind or next to him. i dont see how you can stand that......you cant even talk without yelling especially if you sit in the back seat.

my car is loud but not to obnoxious. thank god i actually do have a resonator. I know i said fuck a resonator, but no cat with a resonator is the perfect combination. but on the other hand Supraman and H22Euro-R have neither and there cars sound sick and Euro-R shoots a quick flame on command.

When my tank is running low the noise gets deeper... haha. It doesn't bother me one bit; I like the sound. It just tends to bother other people and I'm just looking to make it quieter. The other reason is that a 22" magnaflow resonator is like, what? $60. They fucked up my piping last time and didn't put the bend in so it goes: resonator->2.25 piping->stock piping in the bend->2.25 piping into muffler. To be fair, I didn't ask them to; but still... I'd like to get it fixed and might as well slap a quieter resonator on there while I'm at it.

Just had a birthday and got nothing but cash and I have plenty to redo my whole exhaust - the hiflow cat (I don't want to) and the universal muffler (I already have it)

Yeah the loud cars are getting a little annoying to me now. Ive had my magnaflow muffler with 2.25 piping with stock resonator on and I'm about ready to try a 22" and if thats not enough, get an apexi ws2 universal muff

hows the HKS kits, anybody have experience with those, and I mean the full catbacks????

my custom job now sounds great outside, but theres a small leak where the headers meet the cat, so on starting from a stop it sounds terrible, and the internal noise is unbearable

I'm still looking for a definitive answer if anyone has one. I was hoping for someone that had an 18" and a 22" and could tell the difference or heard them both in person.

I just dropped big money on the DC sports headers and once they arrive I'll see if the sound changes at all and will probably continue with replacing the piping and the old resonator whether the sound changes or not.

Anyone know?
