reset ECU after CAI ?

reset ECU after CAI ?

Do I need to reset the ecu after I install my CAI. I thought I had read that somewhere but the search seem to never really help me. I know alot you guys have the CAI so I was hoping I could get a good answer. Thanks guys

Yes, it will "speed up" the ECU's adaptation to the CAI".


Eventually, the ECU will "adjust" over time.

yeah, then run it for 15 minutes at idle. make sure that you don't hit the gas, or else you'll have fuel spikes on your fuel map. . . or so i've heard.

Thanks guys for the replys, we took the battery out to make some more room to work with. I let it run for about 10min then went out and opened it up. This fucker is loud as hell. Dont feel any SOTP hp increase. I really wasnt going for this anyway, mainly MPG increase.

Hmm i never did that w/ my cold air install reset or let sit for 10min...Does this go for short ram installs also?

so dust, if we've had e/i/h for almost a year, it should have already have adjusted itself right?

Yes, it should be adjusted. After a few weeks the computer will have adapted.

ok good, just wanted to make sure. I guess I have already reset my ecu anyway. I replaced the battery a few months ago.

Somebody posted previously that this is not true anymore. The car is smart enough to adjust over a short period of time to the new intake.
