Replacement Key

Hi Guys,

I just purchased a 1997 CL 3.0 for my son. It came with 3 keys (2 masters and 1 valet). I wanted to get another master key so I called my local dealership and they said it would be $26. I was a little blown away by that so I'm asking you guys if this is what they sell for.

Is there an online options that would be cheaper?

Thanks

Mark

$26 dollars is pretty cheap I would say for a key. Is it a chipped key? I paid a little under $200 for a second key for my BMW.

And yes that seems about the right list price. Its about 20% off for shop owners.

The dealership said it's a non-chipped key and he can cut it onsite, if they had the blank in stock. Do you still think that's a goods price? I know the chipped keys are expensive, I have a Benz who's key cost $350.

Its still not bad, thats what i paid for a extra key in 2007. Youre only saving a couple of bucks if you try to go somewhere else.
