Thumbs up Replaced my pass door lock actuator...

I ordered a replacement from a friend who works at honda - one for a 97 Honda Accord 2 dr EX. $75.

Minor issue doing it this way is that the accord actuator has a two wire connector and the CL uses a 4 wire.

Now i dont have a wiring diagram but I depinned the 4 wire and used just the two that the accord one has (Same colors) and it didnt cause any problems as far as locking/unlocking or alarm.

it's an easy enough thing to do as the plug comes apart to make depinning easy.
(Sorry no pix guys, but I can try to snap some of the removed motor and plug if someone needs it)

Anyway, it swaps out way easier than you would think - do not pay someone to do it, it really is easy. And I hate electrical, lol.

Anyway, while I had the old motor out, i decided to open it up to see exactly what was causing the famous - GROAN OF DEATH!

If you open the housing, you'll see two rubber stoppers at each end of the arm mechanism. Well one was busted and had fallen out of place. Without it, the arm sometimes tries to go past it's stopping point and if it succeeds, it gets stuck causing a jammed doorlock.

If you need to save money - just pull the actuator, open it and check to see if the stoppers are damaged first. If so, just place back in position and glue in place with superglue. Once done, it'll work fine again.

I discovered this after i opened the bag containing my new part, so now I guess i have a spare.
