replaced AC compressor/dryer/xpansion valve-stillnot cold air
i have a 97 3.0 CL and had the AC compressor replaced with a new one and all the other new parts (xpansion valve,,dryer and $40 of Freon ) but the air conditioner is still not cold...cool (it is 106 outside)...but even at freeway speed..not ever cold..even in the morning.( 90 degrees==Palm Springs).does anyone know the specs on output temp for the AC? A pro did the job and coincidently??? when i got it back...it now overheats..didn`t overheat before the repair......can anyone help me with some advise or suggestions on this...thanks...es335

The shop that did this work should resolve the problem.
I would check that the cooling fans are both running when AC is ON. This will cause overheating in some cases.
There is no specific "output temperature", however in general you should see at least 35F pulldown for air entering the evaporator (floor temp) to air vent temps. So 80F input and 45F output are reasonable performance.
For further insight, you will need to supply system pressures (hi and lo side), taken at 1500 rpm, max fan, recirculate, and car in shade.
good luck

Did you get your high and low pressure hoses to see if theres any leaks?
The shop should have put A/C dye in there to see if theres any leaks.
Also check the needles from the pressure hoses (where they charge the a/c) make sure they are screwed in tight enough and there isn't any freon leaking from them.

thanks for the help
Both fans are running..but the heat gauge would still hit 80% from the Red,,,Thermostat sounds like the culprit. I am taking the car back to the shop in about 6 hours and have printed your suggestions so i can ask the right questions...again thanks for your help...you rock!!
