Remote Light Stays On
My remotes red light won't turn off, and it is no longer working.
Just yesterday it was working fine, and now the light stay's on the remote as if one of the buttons was pushed in. I replaced the battery and opened it up to see if anything was pushing the buttons in. There was nothing, and everything with the remote looks good. Can anyone tell me how to get the light to go off, or is the remote screwed?

Ya, I think its screwed. I have left the battery out for a day and put it back in and the damn light won't go off. Acura wants $90 for a new one.

Mine did the same thing about 2-3 weeks ago. I replaced the battery and NOTHING!
Luckily I had an extra remote.
Check eBay. They're there all of the time, usually under $20.00.

I would say yes. I bought one off of eBay from a '98 CL, and I couldn't get it to program (I have a '97 CL).
Make sure that the remote you bid on has a pic of the rear case. Compare this to your remote.
Sometimes the seller will list the "FCC ID" on the back. Make sure that it matches yours.
I have instructions on how to program your remote if you need them.

Thanks a lot dustbuster4,
The FCC ID #'s for both the 96, and 98-2000 listings match the numbers on the back of my remote. Should I not buy the 98-2000 CL remote as you weren''t able to get it to work? I also have a 97CL 3.0.

All I can tell you is that the remote for the '97 uses a coin to remove a circular area on the back (to replace the battery). I believe the '98-'99 remotes require you to separate the entire back from the front to get to the battery.
Can anyone else confirm this?
