remember back in the day...

... for those that have had your car modded for a few years now, when NO ONE knew what the fuck your car was, and if they did they had never seen a fixed up one? I remember never ever seeing another modded CL on the street until about a year and a half after i worked on mine. People use to come into our shop and trip out on seeing a slammed CL. Now these things are all over the place man. The uniqueness is totally gone

but they still are rare. But I probally see a new modded one each week.

what was the first fixed up first gen you ever saw? Mine was the one SCC did as a project, then MaxSpeed had some ugly burgandy one in it. First one I ever saw on the street was mine, and that stuck for a good year or so.

I remember way back when the car was new and everytime i went places (especially the gas station for some reason) everyone asked what kind of car it was and they assumed it was really expensive Now no one cares

Yeah, I bought mine back in 1997, and lowered it in 1998. Now I feel like I'm driving an Accord (not that there's anything wrong with driving an accord).

I had never seen one fixed up. I bought the car new in 98 and had my first set of rims for it 3 months later. Then I started looking around for websites.

I remember a guy named Steve that had one done up a bit and cl-driver's CL. Peeps trying to make the clear corners. LOL!!!

I also remember the pic of your CL doing a brake stand!!

people always use to ask me what kind a car i had or if it was "one of those imports"... now there are 3 hooked up CL's around me and thats at school in bumfuckville radford,va. mines still the fastest tho. :P

cl-drivers, ghanders, ross's and the girl with the gunmetal SSR shumachers car were the first hooked up CLs i had ever seen. i had ghanders prokit/C2's and ross's CL w/4" drop as screen savers back in 2000-01...those were the days.

I remember when the CL first came out. I said to myself, someday you'll own one of those. I drove RX7's back then. When my last RX7 was on it's last leg I bought my CL.

Then I found this site, it's you guys who have inspired me to do what little work I've done to my car. I like the newer CL's but it's the 1st Gen I fell in love with.

This seemed like as good a thread as any to say thanks!!

1st gen i saw hooked up? 94/95 accord
i used to see it rollin around my house back when i was still in high school...prolly around 95/96, my freshman year.

i just fell in love w/ it, the guy driving wasn't bad either, but seeing that made me buy a 94 accord for my first car...and hook it up...BUT then i totaled it and bought my CL about a month ago. The first thing i said to myself was " i am gonna leave the CL stock" but that didnt last long...i plan to have enough $$ saved up to have her lowered by july/august!!

my dad is prolly gonna have a fit because it will void the suspension warranty, BUT he isnt the one paying for the car, so he really doesnt have much say in it....hehehe

I still have my '97 3.0 inza red cl and i cant believe all of the mods people have done like Ross, he use and also clboy (CiLver 3.0). Its good to see all of the cool things people have done with the first gens.

1st moded CL i saw was back in 98 in Vancouver.. this guy had a silver one.. slammed... some custom bodykit and a big whaletail spoiler... kinda crazy.. but it was def cool!

and yeah... i remember we were all looking for clear corners before it came out... i met juniorbean from some other forum back in 2000... he told me how he was planning to get custom clear corners made and stuff... i almost did it too but then i found these clear corners in LA right before thanksgiving.. so I told juniorbean and then I drove down during the thanksgiving weekend and got them!!

Wow, i feel like a freggin bandwagon fan compared to all you hardcore owners! I got mine in March last year and dumped tons of money into it with you guys telling me the we can fit 94-97 accord parts on our car. I WISH I NEVER FOUND OUT, AND I COULD HAVE SAVED SOME DAMN MONEY BY NOW! But, i am more than happy with my CL, and some major changes are hitting her late next week, BE ON THE LOOK OUT
BTW, i def have the most hooked up CL in RI, most are only tint/clears around here, but a few have rims. Gotta say though, you do see more and more with time, but it will never be the accord that you can see in every row at a supermarket.

Don't worry peeps.. we 1st gens.. will NEVER and I repeat NEVER be like accords... Just consider this the accord is one of America's top10 seller and has top5 stolen rate!! We 1st gen CL quite frankly didn't sold too well... therefore we will always be the unique ones.. not to mention that the #s of 1st gen are decreasing since itz not in production...

1 more thing.. we are a little safer than accords... Most ppl even mechanics that i talk to do not know under all that classy body lies the reliable accord design...

the 1st molded Cl I saw was in the LowRider Euro, it was silver one with a buddy club molded on,

but the 1st time I noticed a CL was in Janet Jackson video and thats where i desided that a 1st Gen CL would be my next car, and 1 1/2 later I had it

The site went down because homepage.com went bust. I didnt even know, when i went to login the site was no where to be found. I was going to do a full blown site, but with school and working, I wa to busy. I wish i had backed-up all of the pictures. Anyway, its good to see that we are still doing some unique and cool stuff to our cars. I finish paying for my cl about 2.5 year ago and i was going to trade it in, but discided to keep it. It not worth the trade in, so i am going to finish what i started hopefully by next year. Here is what i have done and still have on my 97 (70,000mi) 3.0 CL.

-Piaa superwhites and superwhite wedge bulbs.
-WingsWest type-r airdam.
-Red painted engine covers.
-DC sport Struit Tower Bar.
-Weapon-r carbon fiber intake w/ K&N filter
-Denso IK16
-Comptech polished oil cap.
-Clear marker lights with superblues.
-Custom seats with real leather red inserts.
-M3 Mirrors (removed)
-KYB shocks.
-Eibach pro-kits.
-Chrome MOMO sports 17x7.5
-Yokohama A520 215.45ZR.17.
-All around PowerStop crossdrill rotors.
-Metal Master Brake pads.
-Comptech SS Brake Lines.

And the full blown tune up i just did new waterpump & timing belt, wires, fuel filter, rotor &cap. Hopefully i will get a custom paint job done and a navi setup speaker setup. Sorry for the long post.
