Seat problem

A while back the latch cable in my automatic drivers seat snapped and now the latch up on the side of the seat flops around like gramps without his viagra and I have to direct all back seat riders to my passenger side door. I just finished getting my transmission replaced and I'm going crazy trying to fix every last little thing broken on the car - this is the last of them (except for my leaking trunk).
I pulled the side cover off and there was the snapped cable, almost at the connecting point at the bottom. Is there any way to re-connect the steel cable (probably won't work - no play) or anywhere that I can get a replacement. I refuse to deal with the dealer as a general rule. Junkyard maybe...?
