Anyone else get a recall notice in the mail for a recall on the balancer shaft oil seal?
It says acura will fix it until Jan 2003

I'm getting ready to take the CL for all of the recall work at once, ignition, emissions, and now this.

 

I never got the notice but a few years ago my balancer shaft seal let go and all the oil blew out of the engine. It was towed to the nearest dealer and was fixed for around $700. Than i read on h-a.net about the recall and told acura who sent me most of my money back. If your seals havent gone yet you are very lucky but def. need to have them fix it

I just got my ignition and emission recall stuff done yesterday. Don't wait, it took them about 2hrs. to do everything. And because the drought, they couldn't wash the car.
I took it out last night just have some fun, and I felt like I was in a NSX, well maybe not, but I wish I stop getting these recalls notices in the mail.

 

I just dropped it off this morning for the ignition recall. Can't believe they gave me a ford escort as a loaner.

I haven't gotten anything about an oil seal, but if that is bad, that could be a real problem.

 

hm.. I got the ignition recall about two months ago and got it fixed.

can i jsut go and drop my car off and be like ... hey you guys know what recalls are .......fix'em ! ? will that work ?

 

Cant we go somewhere online and input our VIN number to see if our car qualifies for recall? If so..is it acura.com?

First see if you car qualifies for a recall either at acura.com or call the dealership. Then make an appointment. You can get the recall without the letter as long as you need it for your car.
