Can Someone tell me how much oil the 98 3.0 takes...i searched the topic but some people said 4.5 others said 5 and even 5.5 quarts of oil. Can someone answer this question if you really know the correct amount, preschate it..

 

the manual say 4.5 or 4.7 i think....but i always put 5 quarts even.

 

the 2.3 takes 4.5 the 3.0 takes 4.7

 

shit...i need to check my oil..for my 3.0, i only use about 4!!! crap!

no. overfilling your oil is really bad. it can leak into your cylinders. only put in 4.7 q. 5.0 is pushing it but i think it would be ok. drain some of your oil out.

ex: a buddy of mine has a v8 mustang with all sorts of mods. He’s dropped 20 grand into his car it's crazy. He took it to get his wheels rotated, and had them change the oil too so he could go to the track. They over filled it by a quart, but he didn't know about it. Went to the track and blew his motor. He did run in the low twelves though ..... Lucky for him his insurance covered it. He said it cost total of 12 grand ...
