Rattling comming from tranny

I drive my CL alot.....already put 20k on in 6 months. Alot of highway miles, anyways, after the cars is running for a while, there sounds like a rattling comming from the transmission. Any ideas? I just had the 90K service done a few months back, and want to know if i should be worried as the summer get warmer, and we all know the CL 3.0 transmission isn't bulletproof. I'm thinking about a cooler , but i'm wondering if this rattling is a prelude to transmission failure down the road......any advice?

I don't think the rattle is from the transmission, may be a shroud or something of that nature. My transmission never rattled before it went, it just went... If yours is shifting right, than it is something else. If you notice clumsy shifting, slippage, shit like that, then you should worry about the transmission. Oh, mine went right around 88,000 so you are in the ball park... Just stay up with the service schedule and you will be ok.

You guys would kill me, i guess it was the valves, i let me oil go for 8000 miles, its soooooo hard to find time to do it, or get it into acura. Anyways, i guess when the oil warmed up it wasn't providing the lubercation it should have. My fault

I'm going to keep my ears open this week and see if i hear anything else. Thanks for the fast replys. It's good to be back on the board.

Woe, that is some kind of fucked up, did you do any damage? Honda engines are pretty tough, it takes a lot to kill one.

yeah man try to do it every 3-4K miles especially since you have a lot of miles... that is unless you're trying to blow your engine to have an excuse to do a CL-S swap... hmm
