hi guys i tried searching for this but had no results i appologiese if someone has talked about this before

so here's my problem, when im crusing i get this sound and vibration that will randomly happen for like 4 or 5 seconds and stop. when it happens if i let off the accelerator it will stop. It kinda sounds and feels like when you go off the highway and hit those ridges.

i have a 97 3.0 with 148,xxx miles.

 

how often does it happen? have you noticed any trends leading to the vibration? like a long turn on the highway or different loading of your vehicle? Does it feel like a tranny? or wheels and tires? Check your wheels lugs????

 

it doesnt happen every time i drive my car but when it does happen it happens more than once, personally i think its prob the tranny, its almost like a gear poping in and out of sync, i'll check the lugs tom.

 

if it happens when the tranny shifts from 3rd to 4th its your torque converter going out, to test it make the tranny go from over drive to drive and back driving at highway speed.
