Radiator cap won't come off?

Am I retarded? (Don't answer the question)

Anyways I got a new Visteon Radiatior from the local shop a few months back and today yesterday after I washed/waxed the beast I decided to take a look at the antifreeze and see what's up, if i had enough etc.

I pushed it down and tried to take it off, and I couldn't get it off it would losen up but I couldn't physically pull it off.

When I first got it the cap was on backwards...and I made it facing the right way. I think that mighta been a mistake, or doesn't matter? Cause now I cant get it off!

This happen to anyone else?

See what you gotta do it go on like a 15 min HWY drive. Get the car nice and hot and then go back home and pop the hood and just grab that cap! It'll be like butta and come riiiiight off....you also might experience a little fluid squitrage....

being on upside down doesent affect the cap at all. i think its near impossible to cross thread a rad cap. you say it unscrews but doesent come out. try pliers on the lip after youve got it totally unscrewed. or try bein a man and snatchin it off.

pressing it down also helps and make sure the beast is cold when doing this.
