Racing tonight... will i win against my friends'...?
97 integra ls with intake/headers, a v6 97 mustang auto with light mods, 2001 eclipse GT auto, 96 civic ex with intake and exhaust ? anyone raced these cars before with a 2.3? this will be my second time to the track (in alabama). i raced my car 3 times the last time i was there, best time was 16.3 i'm gonna try to get into the 15s tonight. we'll see...

you'll smoke the civic
should beat the integ but kinda close
you'll lose to the mustang, in 1/8th you'd win
the eclipse i'm not sure, aren't they a v6 with 200 hp, if so you'll probably lose that one too.

That was before the 18's. And I do know how to drive. I bet I can drive circles around you. J/K. But from a dead stop they are slow. No low end torque of HP's.

Kick out the floorboard and use the "Fred Flinstone" turbocharger - start running really fast!!! v It'll help your 1/4 mile times by .5 seconds!!

i just got back this morning at 4 am from the track in alabama. i was rather dissapointed. i ran consistent 16.3 times, but my best run was a 16.2 all i have is intake. i left my subs and tire in the trunk and the rest of my stuff in the car. surprisingly, the ls with shortram and wires ran mid 15s.
the thing is that i never lost off the line. out of the 7-8 runs i had, i was first off the line until 3rd gear. after that, it's over. wish i had more high end power. it's very discouraging to be winning then get beat in 3rd gear. oh well... the eclipse and 300gt both did 15.7s-15.8s. my friend in his gsr with intake (stripped all the seats and everything from the car) ran a 14.6 that was amazing. oh well...

the civic ran an average of 16.4 he had intake and exhaust. yea, i was hoping to get into the 15s though... oh well... my theory is that it's not worth modding the car much more in terms of speed. it's not worth spending more money on a slow car. i'd rather just go show. it's much more feasible in my opinion. but that's just me.

yeah thats true, no matter how much money we spend on our cars there is always ugly stock american cars that'll smoke us. At least our cars look nice and will last over 100k miles.

Did they show you what they had under the hood or you just think that is what they got? I am pretty curious now that the civic and integra LS are running those times with only intake, exhaust and headers.

Did you actually race against any of them, or at seperate times and exchanged timeslips after?
If so please tell me you beat the civic. Even if it was only by a tenth or so.

1.8L LS has 142 hp 120Tq, and is lighter than the CL.
No win there.
Remember guys that in the current line-up of new cars, we have the same HP as the new Chevy Cavalier (2.2L).
Oh, well. I still like the CL though.

ok i've raced again all of those before. My opinton the 97 Integra LS will be your only challege. 2000 v6 rustang 5-speed was smoke by a i/e LS tegra...saw it with my own eyes (lost $20 cuz i thought the mustang was a GT cuz of the flowmaster)
Eclipse auto.... go easy on him.
If the civic was a hatchback then i'll put up a fight else i'll take him. (race 95 ex with i/h/e and nos with my 92 Civic Si i(cai)/h/e) the guy was spraying to catch up )
Tip: dont wait till red line then shift, it just stressing it out. right when you notice the engine stressing.

damn. I miss my integra. Before I got my CL 2.2 I had a 4dr integra 98 and I had a intake and apexi exhaust. It was a automatic. Then I recked it. I went to the body shop and the insurance people file the car was a total loss. I cried my ass off.:'( They give me 13,000 to buy another car, So I bought a CL 2.2. I miss that car.
Anyways if I had a intake and exhaust in my CL 2.2 against my 98 integra LS (RIP) with intake and exhaust which car will win??? BOTH IS A AUTOMATIC. I am very curious now.
