Racing Techniques?
I was having trouble racing my car last night. How do u get the best launch off the start, ive been told many ways, and how do u warm up the tires, thanx, its hard trying to race with the only auto trans, everyone thinks its a joke till they see the tailights.

The best way I know to launch is not very good for your car. Power Brake!
Holding the brake pedal down with your left foot, slowly begin pressing on the gas with your right. When you're ready to roll, let go of the brake pedal and floor the gas!

well you dump the clutch from about 2800 rpm. oh.... wait. you have a slushbox :P j/k
i will tell you this much, dont bother warming up tires unless you have slicks or dedicated autocross tires. there will be no noticeable difference, and all you will cause is unnecessary tire wear.

i was racing my friends is300 at the track last sunday.. and don't ever say an auto can't spin tires.. and usually if sumones spinning street tires, their either getting the dirt and shit off them.. or just making some smoke.. so its usually useful

Theres no point in warming up the tires becasue they really wont spin anyways. Its an auto man, just put it down.

I was powerbraking, it helped a little, i got burned by two civics that night, an Si and a four door, but didnt loose by much, the si cheated and only won by half a car. I think my top ends better than a si, would a vtec controller help out a lot. Who makes them besides Apexi and how much hp do u get.

Lots of companies make vtec controllers (spoon, field boxer, apexi etc..). You won't gain any hp from only a vtec controller, you just get to engage you vtec earlier. If you get something that can control air fuel mixture as well like the apexi then you can gain some hp after you tune it.

i did that in my altima from 4,000 rpm and left 30ft skid marks. tranny never seemed to work the same for some reason tho. :P

I wasnt saying that autos cant spin. I can spin some and catch 2nd everyonce in a while, but unless you have 400hp or your car is light as hell your not going to be able to spin enough to have to warm up your tires.

the front brakes engage before the back ones do.. so you brake.. ease off the pedal.. and slam the gas to the floor.. when you feel the back wheels slip and the the front ones stopped still.. you hold it
