Racing Q: Mustang VS CL

Well obviously a GT would win, but I wondering if anyone here has beaten a manual V6. So 3.0 vs V6, who would win? I'm talking about a 2006 btw.

probably the new V6 stang would take it to the 3.0.

The older ones, not so sure.

I have killed V6 stangs by numerous car lengths. They have a quick launch which im sure the 3.0 will a disadvantage but you should take it no prob in the long run.

U got it all wrong my friend. The 94-04 stang V-6s never made over 200hp stock. Our 3.0s have more hp than those engines and there 3.8s. The 94 GTs with the 5.0 had 240 hp. I know because my girlfriend has a 94 GT with the 5.0. Our cars would definitely take those stangs with the V6.

People who buy stangs with a V6 need to be shot. I don't give a f**k who they are. V6 mustangs feel slow as hell. The new are a little bit better but the older ones had no balls what so ever. The only people who should drive V6 mustangs are females under 18.

im confident an older model v6 5spd would take a 3.0 CL, stock for stock. cls are just SLOW cars.

a 94 5 speed v6 will not beat a 3.0 stock for stock.. and im talking 0-100 have some faith! lol i really dont think they can hang with us, im not saying that a 3.0 can dust it but it will beat it, plus who cares, both cars cost under 5 grand each if that and racing is overrated. the cl is will dust it in sexiness so case closed

nah, but i used to have a legend, which im guessing are around the same speed. I'm sure the extra displacement on the legend motors make up for the mad tyte VTAK on the j30s, but hey, maybe i'm wrong. its just hard for me to look at the CL as anything less than a pimp ass cruising car unless outfitted with serious engine modifications.

idk what you guys are talking about...i beat 3 stangs since i got my 3.0... the first was a V6 when i was stock engine-wise, the second was a GT with my V2, and the most recent one was another V6.... idk what their mods are since after i cut off at about 115mph, they all did a flyby and did not stop...

the 3.0 j series in the cl is way more powerful than the c series motor in the legend. i raced one when i was stock and he had a 5 speed and i smoked him by atleast 6 cars. i had almost 1/2 car on him before i got to vtec. but the cl is a slow car... faster than a is300 but still slow.

PRE 99 v6 stangs are slow the cl would win

99-04 manual v6 are about 15.3-15.5 w/ a good driver. autos are about high 15's-16. idk but that tranny sucks

05+ are 15.0-15.3

hope that pretty much answers the question. stock cl's run high 15's right?

i have a 00 v6 stangs manual and joined the message board to ask pretty much the same question. the cl i will be racing has intake, exhaust and a header. maybe a chip. what are my chances?

edit: just saw u won. nice, i wanna see how i can hold up against a 05+ ive raced one on the highway 3 runs and won all 3 times. but ive never raced one from the line.

yeah there is a huge difference between auto/stick in the stangs (until the 05+ modle) have u ever raced ur buddy?

i had a friend in a auto v6 04 and i would give him .5 second head starts i probally raced him 50 times and he beat me 1 time i fucked up the launch w/ the head start i couldnt catch him. if i ever see another v6 on the road that wants to race me i always give them the jump.

im waiting for my neighbor to get back and i think he wants to race. he is confident his car will kill me. idk

well we raced, sorta. at the light a car pulled out in front of me, i had a bad launch but i was catching up. we both shut down only got to like 30-40 mph

since we missed the light we went from a roll, i waited til he took off b4 i jump on it and i took him had about 1/2 car on him.

my gas pedal is messed up and almost on the floor board right now, and i had a 5-6 ft xmass tree in my car.
