quick h.i.d. question
quick h.i.d. question
before you guys start ripping me on the search button, i already did and it said the search was too broad or didn't come up with anything altogether. I want to get h.i.d.'s this winter so im gonna start saving up. My question is which ones produce the purple hue on the lights? My car is primrose so i think those would look the best. Thanks in advance.

nippon_wa has purple'ish HID's.. i think he bought tech-one kit.. i forgot where he bought it tho.. try searching ebay
btw.. who here is 12000K HID's? does that really do anything?
please dont get 12000k hids. First off goto http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/ and educate yourself on HID's and how they work. 12000k will have some shitty output. Stay within the 4300-6000k range

Stay at or below 6000k.
I have 6k HID's in my Integra's 9006 Projectors, and they have a nice blueish tint, but nothing that will get me pulled over.. Also aim them properly, and you shouldn't have any trouble.

the higher the Kelvin Temp.... the less output, but more color it provides. The higher the tep doesn't not mean freakin BRIGHT... oem is usually around 4300-6000 temp i believe. I have the 5k which is super white (I LOVE IT). If you want purple, look for around 14k. But believe me when i say 4300-6000 is better for light output, rather than just color, or looks in that matter.
I've got 8000K hid's from timerivers. They are a blue with hints of purple at certain angles.

I haven't been pulled over for them yet but cops in tacoma are too busy trying to stop theives, drug dealers, and murderers.

if you where to get hids...get some oem projectors for them. like tsx or audi a4's or bmw's....just getting any hid kit will blind on comming traffic....the hidplanet forum is down but trust me its a pain the eye for others and also they're not as bright if you were to get a oem hid projector set up.....but its your car....but i guess if you were to get a aftermarket hid set up..get 5000k-6000k....anything higher is
