Quick 97 CL Sub Question

Ok so I read in the archived section that I can install a sub and keep the stock head unit using a line out converter. Exactly what does this do and how do you install one of these. Is there anything I have to look out for (dealing with the stockdeck, amp, etc) or is it pretty much just a straight sub install? Thanks.

with a line out converter you lose a set of interior speakers. cuz your taking on of the outputs from the deck and turning it into a input fo the amp. it's not hard. I did it in high school to my escort. pretty straight forward. you get this thing that turns the speaker wire into a rca jack. plug up the amp and go.

do you really like the stock deck that much? IMO your sacrificing sound.
