when i start it up cold (as in 80's) in the morning, the idle is at about 1000rpm and if i let it sit for a few minutes, it'll eventually go down to about 6-700rpm and the car will shift ok through the gears. But, if i don't let it idle for a few minutes, the car would ahve some hestiations to have it going from stop and it wouldn't be smooth shifting through 1-2 and 2-3.

anyone know why is my car doing that?
