question about intake for 3.0 not same one
I am making an intake to fit its an AEM well part of one and the only question is what happens if the two tubes that go into the intake what if I just connect the 2 tubes the other one I made a while back I put the tubes in the intake tube but I had to drill and I guess you could say rig it a little to go into the intake I am trying to avoid that just want to know if I can put the two tubes together instead of in the intake and what will happen if I do do that

huh?
i donno what your talkin about but i have a 3.0 too and my CAI goes out from the right side of the motor, then bends down....one side of the tube is in the engine, then the 2 tubes connect with either a bypass valve or a connecter peice, then you have the intake cone on the end of the peice that points downward...(i dont have a pict of this but im sure someone does...sorry i didnt understand what you were talking about but hopfully this helps some.

Okay let me try this one more time. There are two hoses that go into the intake. I am making the bottom piece of an AEM CAI for a 2001 up Honda Civic fit as an intake on my car. I made an intake before and I drilled into the intake tube to allow for those 2 hoses to fit. I am trying to avoid drilling to allow those 2 hoses to go into the intake. I was just wondering if I can just connect those 2 hoses together instead of running them into the intake, and what kind of a problem I would run into from doing that.
(I hope no problem because thats what did and so far it is okay and this intake piece fits better than the one I made before)

i would drill the holes. the tubes are breathers for the heads of the engine. (relieving pressure buildup + some oil)
you can get little filters to stick on the ends of the tubes, but i would save the money and the mess under the hood if i were you.
also they tend to have some bad effects on the engine sometimes. can anyone verify?

here's a great idea... save up $200 and buy a CAI shipped to your door and install it within 30 minutes!! Very easy and quick.. NO DRILLING, CUTTING or STRESSING!!!!
