i have a 99 automatic 3.0 cl with around 114k miles.

when my car is in drive, there is a random knocking sound coming from the engine block..

at first i thought it was pinging, but after trying the highest grade of gas, the noise was still there.

the spark plugs and oil are fresh (1 month)

& i ran some fuel injector cleaner a few months back


my grandpa thought that i might need to lube the cylinders

my friends think that it is something loose on a piston.

anyone ever have this problem??

Sounds like the timing's off or you need a valve adjustment. How many miles?
