Question about aiming headlights
Question about aiming headlights
well guys, ive got some new stuff!!!
first off, i got my 4300k HID kit comming tommorow by 5pm, and secondly i got 2 BRAND NEW headlight housings!!!
cost quite a bit, but the new housings are soo nice, no scracthes or road rash on them!!
but back to my question, after i install the new housings, i plan on aiming them with the stock halogens in there first before i install the HIDs. when adjusting left and right, i see there is a little gear system on the inside of the high beam, does this move together with the low beam? if not, how do i aim the low beam left and right?
(P.S! Ill post pics of everything tommorw once i get it all in)

I'm not too sure on aiming them left and right, but I know the philips screw somewhere on them aims them up and down. BTW, if you're sellin them, how much for your old housings? Dibs if you're sellin em.
theres two places you can adjust tehm..
one requires a wrench or flat screw driver.. (phillips? shit.. im dont know the real names of these.. sorry, i never bothered to care!)
the other uses a cross head screw driver (the one nearer to the high beams)..
from my experience, the one taht requires the wrench, aims up and down.
the one with the cross head, near the high beam , adjusts the focus. this is just wat i noticed from trying each one and going to each extreme with both of these..
IF i am wrong, im open to corrections.. but thats just wat i noticed..
any one else got input?
BTW, the HIDs are awesome, ur gonna wonder why u didnt get them earlier! haha enjoy!

There isn't a focus control that I know off (not needed for anything). One moves them up and down, the other side to side. The geared wheel is supposed to be a indicator dial that rotates as you move the light up and down and helps you aim it (read manual).
Why aim with the halogens first? My halogens were aimed properly, slight down angle, etc. When I put in the HIDs (9006 drop in) - the HID capsules took the aim up (light was pointing about 5 degrees up). So it's pointless to aim with the halogens, b/c you'll just have to redo it.
