? Question ?

I just debadged my trunk but you can still see some stuff around where the letters were. I used wd-40 and a plastic scraper to remove most of the stickey stuff but a outline remains. What else could I try. Thought about nail polish remover but thought it might be tough on the paint seeing as how its job is to remove paint. Id rather not use rubbing compound if I can keep from it. Ideas anyone?

Try some wax... a couple applications... or use Meguiars paint cleaner... thats what I used, followed by some wax and you cannot tell at all that there was ever anything there. All it is, is a very, very fine rubbing compound. You should also be ok using any rubbing compound... just be sure to use a very soft cloth and do it very gently... so you will not harm the clear coat.

I debadged my Black CL and rubbing alcohol removed most of the sticky stuff but you still could see a slight outline. But then i had my trunk repainted and it fixed the problem

just wonderin, but how did u guys cover up the holes that were left by the acura lettering? or were there no holes, and the letters had to be pulled off? just curious, cuz i would like to do that for my 97 3.0 CL, but don't want to scratch or mess up my car; need "professional" advice heh. I want to take all the lettering off except for the Acura emblem, which i might change the color of, but still thinking.

The easiest way to get every thing off, is to take you car to the car wash then go home and just gently pull on the lettering. The adhesive that holds it on gets very soft when it is wet. Then us Gum off, or any other adhesive disolver to get the sticky stuff left behind.

The "A" is the only piece that has hole behind it.

Bring it to a detailer or a body shop and let them wheel over it with a buffing wheel and some light compound,or if you have one your self even better.
That will get rid of any shit left behind.

My Question: do any of the badges have holes behind them?

i put a new red acura A in the middle so i dont have to worry about the holes. i filled them with silicon. i can always just pull the silicon out to put the stock emblems back on.

Clay bar that section well and then apply your coats of swirl remover, wax etc. and you should be fine.
Don't take off the A unless you plan to bondo and re-paint the trunk (I think that would look good) or get a new logo.
