pulled my cluster and now my gas gauge is screwy
Ok, I pulled out my gauge cluster to replace a bulb in the back of it, and once I put it back in my gas gauge reads as full as possible. I know this isnt right because my car had a quarter tank when I pulled the cluster. I didnt even touch the gauges, just put in a new bulb. I know the gasoline fairy didnt visit me overnight and fill my tank, so what is wrong with it? is there a fuse somewhrere I might have blown?

SOMETIMES WHEN YOU MESS WITH YOU GAUGES THEY GET GET STUCK ALL YOU SHOULD HAVE TO DO IS TAKE THE CLUSTER BACK OUT AND MOVE THE NEEDLE DOWN WITH YOUR FINGER AND IT SHOULD FREE IT UP AND IT WILL BE FINE. THAT HAPPENED WITH MY SPEEDOMETER AND IT WOULD ONLY GO UP TO 50 AND I TOOK IT APART AND MOVED IT ALL THE WAY AROUND AND PUT IT BACK TOGETHER AND IT WAS FINE. TRY THAT FIRST IF THAT DON'T WORK TAKE TO SOMEONE.

what you need to do is while you dash is take apart, drive to the gas station and fill up your tank completly then take off the needle and put it back on so that the needle is at the top of the full marker and u should be all set

The needles are weighted. So you must of tilted it and caused it to get stuck on the F. Your gonna have to take the whole cluster out, and push the needle back down jently. Ive taken my cluster out 3 times already. Stupid ebay gauges.

cant the needle be removed by pulling on the base straight up
looking at the bar which the needle rotate on from the bottom should be hole
its a pain in the ass cause hole in the needle is really small and hard to line up but should be able to put back on or adjusted

Ok I took off the cluster again and pushed the needle down gently. Then I put it back in the car and started it up. The damn thing just rises to full again! I have my center console out right now too so I can put in a headunit and some of the switches are taken out - will this throw off the fuel gauge reading? I dont know why the hell it thinks it has a full thank when it doesnt!!

The other switches shouldn't affect the cluster esp in the center console area. Your gauage just mite of went bad by chance when you took the cluster out.
