I have a 98 3.0 CL with the pro-kit.

2. Had them on my CL comming up on 2 years now and am still on the stock shocks. Still rides fine.

Few things about the pro-kit when you first install them especially if they are brand new springs.
1. The drop at first is not going to be all that noticable. Around 1.3-1.4 your first 3-6 months they are on the car. Dennis should be able to verify this since he only has had his on for about a month now.
2. If you are rolling on 18's make sure to get the 40 series tires as apposed to 35 series. Makes a huge difference to the appearance to the fender gap. I use to have 35 series tires and had a fender gap similar to what dennis has now. When it was time to get new beef I went to the 40 series and the gap closed up considerably.
3. I have had my springs in for close to 2 years now and my springs are fully settled. The drop is not going to slam your car where you have no fender gap but when they are fully broke in you can tell the car has been lowered. I have roughly an inch between the fender and the tire.
4. As soon as this retarded rain storm blows over here in Virginia I'll take some pictures of my car and post them so you can picture what my car looks like. Been raining like crazy non-stop since sunday and the news hasn't predicted it letting up anytime soon.
Will get them up as soon as I can.

Yes I can verify that. I've had my spring on for a little over a month now. They haven't settled yet and I'm really hope they do. It's only about a 1.5" drop right now. The back looks good but the front sits way too high. Check out my www for pics. GET 40 SERIES TIRES! They will make a huge difference. The tire will fill the gap better than my 35's.
1. 1.8" drop (1.3" before installing illumnas and camber kit -- camber kit seemed to have dropped it a bit more).
2. 1.5 - 2 years on the stock shocks (had progress spring durring the initial time -- approx 6 months).
3. 60k miles.
If your asking if there would be an explosion, no. An exploded shock is a shock that leaks oil. You may feel some wondering and some "floating" in the steering.

my stock shocks lasted a year w/ my prokit. You can easily tell a blown shock by touching the valve and seeing if it's covered w/ oil.

Now let me ask this,
Would it be worth BUYING and Pro-kit USED??? Good idea or bad?? (my idea was buying used, the springs would already have had time to settle for a lower drop...)
Anyone know where i can get a Prokit for CHEAP!! ??? (besides ebay)
If you can afford new ones, get them new. I had friends buy from ebay and found out they bought springs that have been cut or springs for a different car. Believe it or not some people actually install their springs incorrectly (hard to do but it does happen). --- a spring can be deformed and sometimes cause weird noises (rattling and squeeking).
Let them settle in your own car!!!
