Projector setup?

Who on the board has projector setups?

I wanna know....also list if your a 2.2/2.3 or a 3.0...

I have a 3.0 with BMW projectors....but I wanna know how anyone else with a 3.0 fit the passenger side in....I had to move that one thing...dunno wtf itis.....a brake thing? water pump? no idea....its right behind the passenger headlight unit...

ALso I had to cut the intake down to fit the driver side one in...

With lowered cars...how do you align the headlights? Since its low, I have to aim up a little to get the middle.....but then at far range, it goes too high and blinds people.....do I have to aim them low all the time?

I got a 2.2 with a BMW X5 projector retrofit done by the infamous VXCL. I'm dropped too, but like Mike (VXCL) said before, he mounted the projectors to the reflector so I still got OEM aiming. Check this place out, it might help you a lil bit on how high you should aim the projectors.

Not too many of us here got projector setups. I think that me, you, VXCL, 97Acura3.0CL, and red99cl2.3 are the only ones that I can remember right now who got em. My bad if I forgot anyone. Hope this helps.

i think ur problem is that ur not used to projectors. u should be able to see ur cutoff on the road just where ur sight ends. it should not look like the light fades into the distance like halogen. when u hit a bump u should see your light cutoff bounce from right above ur sight to under. im dropped about 2.25" and i have no probs. as far as fitment im sure u dont need me to tell u that mounting farther inward would fix all that. installing xenon projectors isn't impossible, but people need to realize its not just cutting a hole with a dremel. i hope u get everything worked out. I WANT TO SEE PICS!

Yeah.....I heard something like Acura3.0CL or something mounted it inside the reflector area, from the outside in. I mounted mine directly off the back of the headlamp....so I can't adjust it at all unless I tighten the headlamp bolts in a certain fashion.

I'm sorry that I don't have pics....I've been without internet for the last few days...about 5 days.

I've been going to school to post on this forum, because it's my favorite!

A mole ate my freakin cable line....so I have no TV or internet....sucks

Anyways....Yeah maybe I'm just not used to it....but I mean like I think the lamps are aimed up a little bit....is this bad? Would cops pull me over?

Also....my reflector creates a major glare for some reason.....like the projector is open between the lens and the bulb....so it acts as a huge bulb and reflects off the reflector. I did the black housing because the chrome part near the front was glaring really bad, so I had to do it. I have a bezel over the projector...I'll post pics probably tomorrow (Cable gets fixed today while I'm at school!)

Thanks!

i mounted from the inside DanMan

the h1's that i used were an odd shape, but if you have the xenon or bi's they have a more circular reflector bowl unlike the h1 that be and red99 had, ours were big and a little oval like

with my ocnversion i made totally custom rings, my own design, then i made the cusom shroud to go around the prjector unit and cover up the housing, i will have to say that i think i have the most light proof headlight, no light seeps through my custom shroud

Hmm.....yeah my projectors are kind of like VXCL....from a BMW 7-series (thing is monstrous)

I might have to use like aluminum to cover the housing so no light gets out....is that safe to do? I don't want my projector blowing up....like putting aluminum in a microwave

it will be fine! nothing is going to blow up. xenon capsules themselves normally dont blow up unless the insulator on the bulb is damaged
