problems w/windshield wipers in the snow... anyone else?

Here's my gripe...

Anyone else have a problem when driving in snow that the snow will build up on the left side of the windshield... keeping the wiper from going all the way over?
I have this problem and I had to roll down my window and manually scoop the snow away off the windshield. Then the wiper can finally sweep through the whole path that it's supposed to. It also builds up a lot of snow on the bottom section of the windshield.

Has anyone else had this experience? Is there a way to fix it or keep it from happening? I think it is the design of the windshield that causes this to happen because it has that stupid little channel on the sides that keeps the snow from wiping totally off the windshield.

It's not snowing lately but I thought about it for the future if we have snow again.

Brushing the snow off with a snow brush might help, and crank up the defrost to 90.

Well, I do brush all the snow off before I get in. The problem is that when i'm driving in bad weather when it's snowing hard the wipers just sort of crap out. They push all the slush to the left side and then it just all builds up until there is a 6 inch pile on the left side and on the bottom of the windshield. The wipers hit the snow and can't push past it all because it just builds up and can't be wiped off the windshield because of that lip on the sides of the windshield.

When the weather is bad you want your car to perform well to give you good visibility etc. It really makes it hard to drive when this happens. The defroster doesn't affect it either.

What a pain...

Right! Move south or to Southern Cali!

But wait until the meet is over!

Seriously, I've been battling this issue for years in my Accord. Never found a solution!
