Hopefully, one of the many knowledgable CL owners here can clear up this problem before/if I take it to the dealer. The power door lock acutuator on the driver's side is shot. Frozen. It doesn't work. I took it to a respected stereo shop, Kustom Kar Sound in Phoenix, and was told as that only Acura can put a new actuator in to alleviate the grinding sound that I hear every time I have to manually lock the door. I took it to another shop, Audio Express, and they told me, "We can put a new actuator in there, no problem." Eventually I had to let Audio Express know that you can "never bullshit the bullshitter." I believe Kustom Kar because they could have easily done the work and made money on me. 3 different Acura dealers have quoted me the same price: $300 for the acutuator and $150 for labor. What do you guys think?

 

If youre not going to do it yourself, I'd go to the dealer.

The ma and pa shops may be cheaper and be "reputable" but they'll never have the backing that Acura has.
