how do you know if your cl is the premium version or not? is it because of leather? leather = premium, cloth seats = not premium?

maybe there's a bad that says "premium" lol

With my '97 CL, the premium package had leather and an upgrade from 15" to 16" wheels.

 

no...2.3 do not come with heated seats....only the 3.0. premium package....

Leather seats weren't exclusive to the Premium.

Acura decided to equip all '99 with leathers as a standard for both 2.3 & 3.0 models.

An easier way of telling instantly if it was Premium version:

1. Rear deck spoiler
2. Heated front seats
3. Two additional motorized positions for Driver-side seat

 

my 98 2.3 had no spoiler when i got it and it still has no heated seats. when i log into ownerlink it says PREMIUM. i also have the big factory sticker that came on the window of the car from when it was originally bought from the dealer and that too says premium. i'm going to check the trunk 2morrow for this supposed amp that comes with premium, but i doubt it will be there due to there not being a bose logo on the HU.

 

To clear up the confusion and to possibly correct my own post earlier, it appears there were more differences between the Standard VS. Premium models during the first 2 model years, then the last year of the 1st Gen life cycle resulted in lesser differences.

somehow i'd doubt the acuracy of those (although its straight from honda) since the 1997 link has 5 speed mt for the 3.0 instead.

my mom has a 94 accord and her stock system sucks(dont know if it's the same as a 2.x cl but i'm assuming).....it is night and day vs my 3.0 bose.the bose amp puts out .0001 watts but it does make a difference,it's not as loud as i would like,but for stock the bass is not bad and the highs/mids are clear & hearable.it's the best stock sound system i ever had in a car..


just wondering do the 2.x's have the 6-speaker or only 4?(looking for something else to rip a 2.x on,as if there isn't enough)

 

In an older car maybe... the bose has some bass and decnent mid range... but with a new head unit, amp, and subs, mixed with the speakers can make for a nice system.

 

The Blose system is alright, till you blow the 6x9's I was on my 2nd set of stocks when I swapped out to my 4 ways

6 speakers is standard in all first gens i'm pretty sure. Just whether they're powered with a bose amp or not is the issue

 

hot sexy lady-killer drives arent standard though - those only come in SoFLA 2.2 CL Pimp mobiles

 

and SoFla 2.3s..... but only if you arent cursed with auto tranny

i dont know if the 2.3 speakers are a name brand or not, but they arent that bad at all.....it did make a big difference to replace the head unit....but i play them load and they hold some alright bass (i am just dont want to blow them)


i am very happy with it and am not planning on replacing them unless they get blown
