Today I called Ati procharger to see if they could build me a custom sc kit they told that they are coming out with a universal kit. This kit is suppost have a self contained c-1 blower that can flow 40psi,bypass vavle, universal tubing, pump, choice of mounting brackets, 2 core intercooler(optional 3 core).They said it would b out by mid April, they didnt say the cost of the kit yet

the cost on the comptech supercharger is 3795.00 and retail is 4995.00

i would go with a supercharger over a turbo since teh whole tranny thing with the 3.0's

prob w comptech is price lack of intercooler, and its only 5lbs of boost as with ati it comes with a couple of pulleys and since its intercooled it allows more boost and timing. I told the tec @ ati how much comptech was he said it would be less than that but he didnt want to give me an exact price till they released the sc kit

i thought the comptech didn't work for us.... didn't someone blow his whole tranny on like the first run with the car due to the problem? i thought it wouldn't fit... has this all changed??

3.0 trannies cant handle that much boost anyway. just sell it and get another car or get a 4 banger cl and h22 swap

Unless Ati is going to install the SC for you as well, I would hesitate going with them. Do they have any idea how they are going to mount it? If not, you're out of luck. What about helping you tune the system once installed, u will likely be the guinea pig unless some other 1stGen CL has already done it? Will it include fuel system upgrades, yeah you will need that too.

Comptech has done/included the above with their package.
You will need some minor custom fitting to get it into the 1st gen CL, but it sure as hell beats starting from scratch with Ati.

The guy who blew his tranny was rmstoico. Although I have some doubts in my mind as to whether he really did install the sc, don't hurt me Ross . But I believed in it enough at the time to go ahead and have the SC installed on my 1st gen CL. So far no unusual problems. I do have a tranny cooler, an inline tranny fluid filter on, and I try not to do too many WOT starts from standstill. I plan on upgrading the boost pulley soon(and other things ).
