Possible body kit in the works.....

Just a little heads up, but, this doesnt promise anything... some guys I know have opened a body kit business... no cheap shit, this is a legit business. I have seen some of the work that they have done on civic si's and they are tight... anyways, I told them that there is no kit available for my car... and they may be designing one & using my car as a base model... I will keep everyuone posted with pics & info... as soon as I get some literature from them ,I will post it here... stay tuned....

They are already open, on beach blvd in Jax ... I went there yesterday & watched them fit some X-1 fenders on a Civic Si, they seem to do really high quality work... I am taking my car there this weekend so they can do some measuring. I told them that I didn't want anything real drastic, as I think the CL is a "classy" car & wouldn't wanna rice it out... I also told them that most CL owners probably feel the same way. I will keep everyone updated as this progresses .... please be patient though, as I work during the week, and they are gonna do mine as a "test" kit. Hopefully everything will work out good & they will be the first to have a kit for the CL's. (they were kinda stoked about that) Peace....

Kit

Hey Chris,

I appreciate you doing this for everyone. I hope it goes well. If I'm not mistaken Henshin is the company responsible for the buddy club kit, and I think they already have a buddy club 2. I also like the X-1 fenders.

More news...

The body kit is a GO! as long as we have 10 people... I am "1" so we need 9 more. I talked with them briefly today, and he said they would design one as long as we had 10 kits.... Now.. PLEASE be patient, he said he would do everything... INCLUDING fenders (if they are wanted) for around 500-600 dollars... as far as the design of the kit... it is undetermined, I know everyone one is going to say "I dont wanna buy it if I cannot see it." So... I am gonna talk with him more this week. Please reply if you would like to be included, of course... you can back out right now... but, as this progresses.... we will have to have only "definite's" included..... more to come this week....

Are they only going to do one run of 10 or is this going to be a regular kit that they will sell from now on?

a little update

Alright, This first one will be a run of 10 kits (or more if people get in on it) After that, it will be up to Henshin... I am going to try and get them to generate some sketches or drafts of the kit after we take measurments... I am taking them some pics of VeilsideCL's car.... although I would like the front end to be a little more "calm" Let me know what you all think...

Ecerybody talk the talk. I want somebody to walk the walk. Whoever does decide to make this kit. I think they'll make a little profit. I'm in the process of ordering the W Typ kit and molding it on w/ the help of a local body shop instead of waiting around. Out w/ the old. In with the new.

I spoke with the guys at Henshin again today, found out a few things... As someone stated before, they are the ones responsible for the "Buddy CLub 2" kit. They said that this is the style that they could make for our car... you can see pics of it at www.henshinauto.com and click on the "buddyclub2" image. Let me know how you all feel about it... I personally think the front may be a little "wild" for my taste. Although, I do like the back & the skirts..... so maybe we could use those with a WW front lip? (I think that would like tight) Now the bad news... it may be towards the end of summer before this happens.... reason being, they were at the Miami show last weekend, and they are now "Flooded" with orders. Everyone has been impressed with their product, because it is very high quality.... anyways, more to come...

Buddy club

Hey Chris,

Hey, if they could get the kit done during the summer that will be great. Here's a proof also that Henshin might really make a kit for a CL because in the Miami show, they were looking at this CL (at the background you'll see them with their t-shirts and buddy club 2 shirts - pictures are attached).
I also attached a picture of a CL with a buddy club bumper (without holes on both sides) Aight Chris, I hope this works because I'm not sure about Ross' kit.

I need to know how many people would be in on buying a BUDDY CLUB 2 kit for our car around the end of summer.... if you need info about the kit, or wanna see what it looks like... go to www.henshinauto.com and click on the buddy club 2 logo! Thanks, Chris.

If the buddy club kit is the one on the civic on the henshi site I think it looks tyte. I would be in on it as soon as I see what it looks like (a definite either drawing or kit ON THE CAR) and I see how much it costs. I am interested in a kit; ESPECIALLY at the end of the summer; but I can't say yes for sure till I see waht it looks like and how much its gonna cost me. If the buddy club kit is the one on that beige CL on the link that KitsJAG5254 had; I wouldn't want i think its too much bumper; and actually kinda ugly just IMO; not taking anything from the owner who i'm sure worked verrry hard to do what he did.

Bottom Line; If it looks like the one on that civic at henshi.com; pending final sketch and pricing; I'd be down at the end of summer. If it looks like that beige CL; I wouldn't pay any amount of money for it and instead I'd finish up my stereo.

Either way thank ya much for putting forth this effort to give acura-cl.com members an oppertunity.

It looks great man; really it does. And I hate to be a picky ass hole but I'm 17 working trough high school. I can't just shell out close to $1000 for something I'm not 100% sure that I like. I really want to be in on this cuz i think it looks HOTT on the civic; but i've gotta at least see a sketch of the kit on the CL before i can say that I'm in.

I want to be in I've got teh cash; right now i'm 90% sure in....
but first I need....

1. Sketch or a pic of it on OUR car.
2. Cost or very good rough estimate.
3. Estimated Time of completion.

Guys once again I'm sorry if i seem like an ass about this. I j ust dont have $1000 to throw into something I'm not even 100% sure that I like. But if ur looking to see whos interested; I DEFINITLY am.

thanx again chris

i would definately be in if the price range is between $500 ~$600.

i'd liek that price range as well; but i'm willing to pay a lil more for quality as well. you just tell us what they're asking. please dont put a $600 limit on it; have them say thats too cheap and wont produce it then everyone's screwed.

thanx again.
