Is it possible to make a CL 4-wheel drive ? Like could it be done? or on any car for that matter ? anybody heard anything about this ?

 

i've heard of civics going 4wd after doing k24 swaps

whats the point of getting a fast car when u could make it fast. where would I go to ask if this could be done to my car ? Im planing on getting a h22 swap soon so ill ask the ppl that do that probably. if it costs 5 grand it would be worth it too me.

you cannot have a 4 wheel drive tranny in a k20 or h22
the only way something like that can be done is by having a CRX 4 wheel drive tranny in your car. Im not sure what engines the tranny mounts to though but def not h22 or k20

 

isnt the crv a k series motor. it comes with 4 wheel drive

 

Anything is possible with CNC machining ( i think that the machine I'm thinking about). The machine I'm thinking about is the one that you drop a block of metal in it and it uses lasers to cut it to your own specs making whatever the hell you want. So you can cast yourself a tranny of your own as an example. Anyways, it's possible with a bit of money. Not to mention the amoutn of cutting they would need to make room for your drive shaft.

I believe the CRV is a B20 w/o vtec... This is a crazy motor to build and make fast. Swap a B18 head on it and you got vtec making crazy amounts of torque.. Theres a hatch here with a swapped one and runs 11.7 all motor! So it isnt a K series yet.

 

no the 2002 and newer are k24's my mom has a 03 crv, im 1000% positive its a k24, even google it

 

so if this can be done and it seems like it can with some heavy modding and lots o' money, where should i start ? who do i talk to ? body shop, tranny shop ? thank you guys for all of ur input !

 

i wouldnt do it, the crv only weighs 300lbs more, and thats probably because the 4wd system, if i were u i'd just buy a crv

i would consider the fact that its having to move 4 wheels instead of 2. I would think that could rob power.

Our cars are slow enough with front wheel drive, let alone 4...
You want a 4 wheel drive car and you have 4k. Go buy a gsx or tsi.

acutally you wont even need to make a whole new tranny just for a 4 wheel drive conversion. if they can fit a VW tranny on a J30A1 for a doon buggy cart or connected a toyota 4x4 tundra differential into a blewn big block on monster garage anything is possible.

 

well i wouldnt just be doing the 4WD converstion i would drop a new engine in also and the point is not to get a 4WD car its to make my car 4WD ! 4WD CL thats the point.

 

the k24 with a k20a head makes a good bit of power, but the cl is just really heavy
