port-n-polish

I have a 99 2.3 CL, I wanted to know if anyone in here has any port and polish work done to their 2.2 or 2.3? And also how much power would I be looking at if I had it done? I'm also looking at the venom intake manifold after the porting is done. Any advice would be appreciated!

if you're looking for speed a port and polish won't give you that much unless you have all the bolt ons and the venom manifold will only help you with forced induction and maybe 10-15 hp with the manifold after the forced induction. for the money you want to spend on all that just get an h22 and you'll be more happy with your results.

Yup a port and polish job on a 2.3 that has little or no mods might actually lose you HP or torque off the line. Port and polish jobs are for cars with forced induction or lots of mods done. I have a port and polish job on my h22, buts that because I have crower stage 2 cams a 75 shot of nitrous and every bolt and then some. Also port and polish jobs can be more or less aggressive depending on what mods the car has done and wether or not its turbo. Even a mild port and polish job might not be worth it, considering the other mods you can buy for the money.

Where can I find the best price on a H22, and could I use the tranny that I have in the car now? Also, where could I get a good limited slip diffy for a good price? One more thing, does the H22 drop right in or do I need some engine mount kits?

You can find complete swaps on ebay for around $2000.00 with a prelude tranny. You can use your tranny but if its an automatic its not going to last to long with the new engine. H22 drops right in no mounts needed. Do a SEARCH and you'll find all the info you need.
