I was just in a CL with P'n'P HIDs, and drove behind it for a bit..... the light isnt bad, but the dispersal pattern is all over the damn place, I honestly think my 9005 conversion put down more light

bought mine for 90 shipped on ebay...no problems whatsoever
only issue is that the 9006 hid capsules (at least on my car) tend to project light in a particular way such that you cannot get the cutoff to the optimal height (it still points downwards on both sides even after adjusting the height all the way). could just be my car though

his were more into the blue range, id say probably inside 7-9000k something like that.......... right now im just using plain old Sylvania XtraVision 9005s on an aftermarket harness, the difference over plain old 9006s is amazing....... the thing is you trade off bulb life for this added performance, but the bulb life is still good, none of that once a month things, id say to be safe 1 set a year, which isnt so bad, I mean 20 bucks the pair... then again HIDs last damn near forever compared to old halogens
the problem I had with the HIDs were that they didnt put the light DOWN, they put it out like crazy, much more output than my 9005s, it just didnt seem to end up on the road

everyone keeps saying "you get what you pay for" when it comes to HIDs, that might be true when you are doing a projector retrofit, but when it's only a plug-n-play kit, they are all the same. I bought both the Kaixen kit and the generic sub-$100 ebay kit and sea how well each works, I could not see any different between the two. I sold the Kaixen and kept the ebay one on my car, now it is on Asianspec's car b/c i traded mine in.
The driver side is the ebay, the passenger one is the Kaixen. You can see that they both have similar [crappy] beam pattern. The Kaixen has 1 yr warranty, the ebay has 18 months warranty. Even if the ebay one breaks, you can send it in for warranty replacement and still save over $150.
In short, save your money and don't spend too much on a plug and play kit. If you want to look good, wet sand and clean up the headlight housing so it shines brighter.

normally the more money gets you better ballasts...but you never know xoz they are from China...
I am using cheap ebay with custom wiring for relays (better/stable current input for the ballast)...no trouble yet...

nowhere near 1000 bucks for a retrofit
despite the fact I'm rocking this plug n' play kit during winter,
I already pieced together my entire retrofit setup (minus shrouds) for about 170 bucks
100 for the tsx projectors and 70 bucks for the e46 ballasts and osram bulbs
then figure another 30 bucks for harness and odds and ends
so 200 for everything
you just have to shop around and know what to look for

wouldnt look right unless u do a retrofit i mean that my opinion rice_pock3t_rock3t were not trying to push u in a direction away from what u want to do its ur whip. we are just trying to let u no that if u want the best light output with our car u should do a retrofit. whatever kit u get make sure u got a good warranty on that.......

I have a plug n play hid kit... and I have no problems with it. If you have stock lights, I was in the same boat when deciding if the PnP kits were worth it. Let me tell you... PnP kits will make you lazy to do the retros because the PnP kits are SOOO much better than stock, and you get used to them. Yea the light gets reflected in a lotta directions probably blinding some, but just make sure you aim them a bit on the lower side. I honestly think, besides my suspension, the HIDs is the 2nd best mod... it makes driving at night so much safer. I have 5k which is pure white. I love my HIDs! (of course retros are better , but they do take a lot of time and are expensive)
