PIX of 4 step waxing process 56k no no

well, i wanted to clay my car, but i thought i would wait till after winter. because salt and etc.
everything i used can be baught off of
http://www.meguiars.com/estore/
so i started off with step 1

i went around the car and applied Scratch X to all of the scratches

then step 2 i applied cleaner wax

then step 3 i used

and on to the final coat of

i let the NXT wax sit for 20 or so min and i buffed it out with a buffer,

last but not least i got all of the dust off with

it all looks great, only took about 4 hours, and i am protected for the winter salt

i will take some outside pix this weekend, the paint looks new again

yeah nice stuff... i've gotten together all this meguiers stuff as well... are you going to use the 1-2-3 step? i see you got the 3rd step in the carnauba wax. i need to purchase some NXT tech wax, i heard that stuff was really good

i heard its better to use scratchX after polishes/cleaners... but maybe my sources were unreliable -_-

Should of polished it also. But it still looks good. It took me dumb long to do the 3 step wax process minus the clay bar. Took me three full Saturdays, had to divide the car into three. The results made up for it. Meguiar's leather cleaner/protector is good too.

^ 3 days is pretty good for a wax... how many layers did you apply? i'm thinking of aplying 2 layers of tech wax on 2 days, then carnauba on the 3rd

sorry for hijacking the thread xP

I only applied one layer of each the first time around just to have some protection on the paint. I plan on doing a more thorough application later on. Clay bar, paint cleaner once, polish twice and wax twice with a third application of wax to the lower portion of the vehicle. I'll be applying each with an electric buffer and buffing the cleaner/polish/wax off with a micro fiber towel. All this is done with Meguiar's products be the way. My car is primerose and there is definitely a difference in the paints depth and shine.

I even applied the cleaner to the windows and it got the water spots right out, then i applied wax.

i use nxt to wax my shit every day almost. Whenever it gets dusty, i take it to the car wash and park it. Then dust it. Then wax it again. When it rains, i wax it afterwards

Great job.

If your step three really does have some carnauba wax, you should apply that last. Your LSP (last step product), NXT, has some cleaning ability and may get rid of some wax you put on top of that. This is why laying NXT is not efficient, you could do it two layers just to make sure you cover all the spots though.

It may attract dust, but it doesn't put dust on the car.

Would someone please switch the thread back to *ENGLISH* please? lol...Im sooooo clueless with all this "Clay Bar" "NTX" "carnauba" "polymer" lol...ohh jeeze, im screwed. I've gotta do soo much research on this stuff and its gotta be quick...the CF hood should be installed tomorrow night. (plan is to wax on Sat. and take picts sat. evening....maybe)

Hey, since we are discussing wax....is it a good idea to go ahead and wax the CF hood too? Or not, since its brand new??
Yes, yes, I know...i gotta do a lot of research and reading on the "Detailing/Waxing fourms"

You all want to hear something really sad....im talking like, someone drive down to Kansas and beat me with a tire iron, sad....The last time I waxed my car....um...uh....well its been a good few years...possible 2 yrs. I know! I know! Im freakin stupid....I just didnt know and didnt really care back then...and now i do. Do you guys think its too late? Have i totaly screwed up my paint because its been soo long? Is the damage going to be irreverseable? (sp?)

But hey, WAKE, it looks REALLY GOOD! How much should I expect to pay for all that wax? Like the 4 step process u used and everything? (yes, i have a buffer...if that matters)

Go to the Wash & Wax forum. Check out the sticky that's on there. There's also a lot of info on autopia.org

I think I'm near the $1000Cnd mark for all my detailing supplies and equipments. You'll feel so much more satisfying doing it yourself. I wasn't hesitate to spend that much because the gov't gave me 1500 to start up a business last summer.

Holy smokes, you did it all by hand?!

I feel you doode. I did that once back in the days and bought a Porter Cable (Meguiars DA Polisher equivalent) the next time I even thought about it. Start saving up.
