In a pickle! Need help!

So, I really want those RockBlocker brake light stuff but my parents won't let me get them. They say it is "unsafe" and, "a good way to get rear-ended". Is this true? Do these block out alot of the break light and make others hard to see the break light? I was wanting the darker ones but now I don't even think I can get the lighter ones. What should I say?

Wow! That's not that bad! Also, I would think Red light on black would be easier to see then Red light on red IMO if you know what i'm saying. Thanks for the pic! So you have any better ones? I need to show them that.

yeah night time isnt bad at all, its day light thats the problem.
at night you can even see the reflectors when the tail lights are off shining from the street lights.

yeah, with the darkest tint, it can be difficult to see the brake lights, depending on the kind of day it is..
some days i can see it just fine, other days it's nearly impossible.
but like they said, at night it's no difference really

i'm worried that during the day i might get rear-ended, and then be at fault because of my taillights.. knock on wood

I've seen a few white CL's with leds and in the pic it looks crazy bright. It's still a pic tho. I'll search for it.

Couldn't find that white CL with the leds but I did find this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TWO-H...spagenameZWDVW
Do you think that will be bright enough to see through the rockblocker? or would a 48-led refractor be a little overkill? and Are our Break light bulbs red or white? (because the plastic is red)

Your 'rents are right, tail-light tint is dangerous. Getting rear ended isn't fun, my CL almost got written off cause of that and then they did a piss poor job of fixing it that i got rid of it the first chance i got.

my brake lights are the only lights I never changed to something ridiculously bright and I think they're fine, course I'm a very aware and cautious driver. But I just have regular phillips dual fil bulbs and they're bright enough, will do LED's soon, but never had a prob with anyone seeing my brake lights, but I also agree that the red light stands out on the black car. I also only have the 20 which is the lighter, and the light shows through. I also drive with my corners on so a cop can see that the light shows through since I used to drive through a school zone every morning by my house that was watched by the local po

I was told that driving with just those lights on is illegal. I see lots of people doing it, but I've heard that cops will pull you over and write you a ticket.

Maybe illegal at night where headlights would be required, but I think he meant during the day time. 'Sides, no cop watches a school zone at night when there are no students attending

I'd say driving with just those on AT NIGHT would make sense, not during the day, wtf do they care? I'll tell them it's DRL. I did it for 2 years and never had a problem, and got followed by numerous cops

I wish the 194's weren't so dim or else I'd have my corners on most of the time. I know, LEDs, but they're just as dim IMO and I got a faulty one that kept exploding (semi-literally) fuses.

As for the OP, who pays for the car and the insurance? If you pay for both, they don't have a say, buy the tint anyway. If they pay for one or both, you're

Let me know which type of bulb seems to be brightest. The ones that caused the problems were the 4-LED "Matrix" style, I believe, supposedly supposed to be brighter because it shoots the light out at all angles. BS, they were dimmer than incandescent.

Thanks for your input guys. I still really do want the tint tho so I need some super bright tail lights. I was looking at the DIY led guide and noticed 2 different numbers. Which is the right break light number: 2057 or 194/165?

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ghlight=led%2A

Thanks again. More reference pictures wanted if you guys have them!

#2057 is the tail/brake light. #194/168 is the side corner, just like up front.
