performance question
hey im wondering whether a h22a swap or a f22b turbo'd would be a more reasonable way to go with my cl? also im looking into the prices and which one would be more of a hassle to maintain.

depends on what kind of power you want... building your own turbo kit is better than buying a compiled one. F22 head is stronger than h22 for a turbo... will probably run you about 3k for a decent turbo set up... H22... about 3k for decent swap... N/A probably more reliable than FI... but you could have wiring issues.
oh btw Search.
EDIT: ^^ When they fix the search button.
members with swaps...
dainfamus1- h23
supramanag-h22
yada yada yada.

Son of a bee-sting I need to start learning honda engines. 4G63 was my stomping ground for 2.5 years and now im thrown D's B's J's E's F's H's and the list goes on. Pointless to post this, i know, but it just hit me that i dont know near enough to help anyone with any honda engine question... yet, that is.

we should just have a "I cant search and I'm a noob so answer my beat to death question"
I've had a couple of question, that have forced me to just root through the threads, not very efficient. However I still havent asked, cant do it, feel like I'd be asking how to tie my shoes.

Since were on the subject of performance, i'll go ahead on throw my question out here to. I'm dying to mod the new CL and i'm just wondering what the max gains horsepower wise will be from bolt-ons on the F22. By the time i buy I/H/E and maybe a cam and nitrous, would i be better off with just swapping the F-series out?

You don't gain that much power from all the bolt ons.. I mean its noticeable for a while, just like when you get a new car... then it becomes routine and you realize it's not that big of a difference. If you want real power... either swap or turbo... depending on your mileage and funds... and if you can honestly tell yourself that it is going to be worth it... especially at our ages with so much shit going on that needs to be paid for.
I have Intake and full exhaust, my car sounds like a fucking beast, but it really can't live up to the expectations it leads people to have. Other than having an extremely sexy driver of course.

But then again, with bang for your buck, a turbo will net you somewhere between 200 to 240 HP, and a swap will be 200. with an H22. I'd love to see a turbo F22/23 race an H22/23 to see the results.

Are you going to build the setup? If not, ask the person who is going to build the setup you want, "what build up do you feel most comfortable with?" Also, which i hope you have been doing, shop around for parts and prices. Compare the f-series to h-series prices and availibility. Yeah a NA H22 sounds great, you have instant power and good support, but you seem like you like turbos regardless of what you start with...h22s are not sleeved so rebuilding the block is moot. Most of all; you can get real help from a local shop without people trashing you for being a noob and redirecting you while they can just answer your question. I guess a few posts are the end all be all to some people. Good luck
