Performance Cat?

Hello everyone, I was thinking what I should get next for my car. I don't really want to spend a whole lot on the next mod, so headers are out. I was thinking a high flow cat, any opinions on what I should do would be nice

no use in getting a hi flow cat w/o headers and exhaust as well.

Hey, some of us gotta build up our cars piece by piece... like me. I'd say go for the cat... I think Pacesetter makes one for the accord... somewhere around $120... It would give you a couple hp I bet... and probably give you a deeper tone in your exhaust.

Since you don't have much money why don't you just get a universal muffler, and maybe some 2.5" piping if you can afford it, then look into the high flow cat, then a header...

Don't spend $120 on a performance cat. I got the obx racing cat from ebay for the 94-97 accord. The cat usually goes on ebay for $45 to $60. It does the job nicely. The only negative is that it doesn't come with a hole for the O2 sensor. I had to drill one for the sensor. But its true your not going to get much of a gain in HP without headers and exhaust. If you plan in getting headers and exhaust in the future then you can get the cat now and you'll be set when you do buy the headers and exhaust.
By the way adding the cat on my car did not change the tone of my exhaust in any way.

how did you get the O2 sensor to stay in place after you drilled the hole in the cat.

After I drilled a hole big enough for the sensor to stay in, I welded it in place. It was a pain cause I had to cut the O2 sensor off because there wasn't enough room to work under the car. Then when I was done I reattached the wires. I just hated having the check engine light on. Besides if something were ro really break and the check engine light was allready on, then you would never know it.

I would get pullies but I hear there is a disadvantage if you run a lot of elctrical things in the car. I.E. fogs, stereo, ac, etc. Is this true, what can happen if it is true. Oh and sumkid, I know what you mean, I have to save month to month to by my stuff. But eventually I will ahave everything I need. Oh and one more thing, I heard that the obx headers and the obx high flow cat isn't approved by CARB. Doesn't that mean it could contribute to failing an emmissions test. And don't our cars already have a prob with that. Sorry for all the questions. Thanks in advance
