I painted it:
1. Jack up the car
2. Remove Tire
3. Spray caliper w/ high temp paint (It's ok to get on rotor)
4. Put tire back on
5. Move on repeating steps
You can clean the caliper if you want with like a tooth brush and stuff, but I didn't and it seems to beholding on well.
You may think that you hvae to tape up the area around the caliper to keep the rotor clean, butr i didn't. I just kinda drove around a little bit using brakes to heat the paint off, and now it looks normal. I don't feel anything wrong

Danman, your calipers look niice!
I just hate the fact that their all rusty and shit. But ill probly do em in a weeks time...ill post some before and afters if i remeber to take em. But if i decide to remove the calipers to paint em...would it be difficult, or is there no reason to remove em?...i dont wanna fuck em up and end up with no brakes...hehe

well i woulda removed mine but:
My hydraulic lift was manufactured in May 1989 (15 yrs old) So I didn't wanna leave the car jacked up too long on that.
I bought 4 jack stands, but I can't get them to fit! The jack points are too small!!! So I have the jack stands sitting my garage! I woulda jacked the car and put the stands then removed all the stuff, but I didn't wanna risk my car falling on me
GOod idea to remove them...I've seen many people paint it while on the rotor, and get some paint on the rotor and have no problem (My situation for example). You can take the extra precaution and remove them, but make sure you put it back on correctly

well i havent painted them yet...maybeeee ill remove them...im not too experienced with removeing brakes let alone putting them back on, but ill see.
I just spent a few hours cleaning my calipers with a toothbrush, and a drill with a metal brush attached.
heres one of the front calipers...forgot to take a pic of the rear one after i finished...ill post that later.
not much of a difference in the pic, but it looks 100x better...im gonna paint that shit tomorrow after school...i cant wait!

You don't need to remove the calipers to paint them. Do one axle at a time. Jack up the car, put it on stands, remove the wheels. Spray with a degreaser and let dry. Put newspaper on the ground to catch the degreaser when it runs off. I used a couple of sheets to make sure I didn't get overspray anywhere. I also used masking tape and newspaper to cover the suspension, rotors, etc. The key is to make sure the caliper is clean, then put on 5 or 6 really lite coats of paint. It's time consuming, but the extra effort is worth it.

I put my jack stands under my suspension arm. since it is connected to the frame( next to where you put the jack in the rear) it should be fine. in the front I put my hydrolic jack in the middle( there is a frame support just past the radiator) and put the jack stands where you would put the factory jack. should work.
