sup guys.. for those who got they side skirts and rear lip painted.. how much did it ran you? this goes for the people with 97 CLs.. thanks

 

i heard some paid around 200 cause they;ll give the excuse that cause its plastic its harder to paint and make the paint stay there forever

 

Yeah Maaco quoted me $218 witht he front lip also....but i found a hook up for $100

 

dam 100 .sweet. yea its gotta be sanded, primed like 4 times and then painted and clear coated. maybe u can save some $ by sanding yourself with a fine grit sand paper?

sure dawg the place is in Arlington....New Image Body Shop....he's doing my custom rear bumper for $100(for mod) i provide him with the aftermarket bumper and my stock bumper. he'll do a bad ass candy paint for like $2500

 

I paid like 300 for all around and also my front lip. My body guy says its a pain in the ass to paint that plastic.

 

so are the side skirts on the 98+ the same plastic....if it is...wonder if the dealer puts much work into the prep.....

 

Thats sweet. I may actually take ya up on that one come summer. I've been dying for a paint job and thats what i was looking to spend, plus some skirts would be ill if he could hook that up too. I'll let ya know in a couple months

 

Just alot of sanding and primer if you do that and get it preped to the point where they only got to shoot the primer sealer and the base/clear It save you some $$.

 

i didnt sand anything..painted my shit years ago....and its fine.......to this day! and its not any harder to paint.........

I'll take you up on that offer when the lip comes in... from the GB... I want to get the mud flaps done too perhaps some touch work on the rear bumper fucking LA steet parkers.

 

i did mine myself. cost about $60 for paint and materials.

-i sanded them down to clean them and make the surface ruff.

-cleaned them

-covered them in adhesive promoter and flex coat

-painted them with about 6 coats sanding inbetween coats with 600 grit.

-added about 4 clear coats sanding in between

came out baby ass smooth and held up for 2 yrs no probs until i got them painted black.

 

97........


all i did was wipe mine down with acetone and spray with bulldog flex coat mixed in. Two coats, no clear...looks just like the car......its gooooooood

 

dam really? the texture got covered up by the primer?

 

I think I'm gonna do my sideskirts and rear lip myself.

Yeah hit me up whenever u need it done or need a quote before u drive all the way down here...i might be putting my car in there in a few weeks for him to put on a pair of side skirts and custumize my rear bumper.
