paint chipping off of wiper arms

So my car looks close to perfect, except...after a nice New Year's weekend at the slopes in icy conditions, I get back home and notice this .

And it's REALLY bugging me. Is there any way to make it look near perfect without replacing the entire arm?

why dont you grab, some sockets and take the arm off (2 minutes) then paint it (20) minutes

22 minutes and 5 dollars later.. perfect again

A coat of primer and gloss paint should make it look like new again. I hate how the sun reflects on the metal; it hurts my eyes.

shiney is right, it's realllll easy to do, and only takes about 20 mins, my car looks so much better with that little improvement. but dont spray the wind deflector, it'll chip off quickly, and it's plastic anyways

thanks for the info. So...should I remove the paint on the entire arm, then prime & spray (?) or just prime & paint the small affected section? Did you get the paint from Acura or just aftermarket stuff?

Remove the whole arm, it should lift up and then out after you unbolt it

I mean in terms of painting it. Should I paint the ENTIRE arm or just the affected section. Also, wonder if I should strip the paint from the whole arm and paint the entire thing. Decisions, decisions. Anyway, this will have to wait until April. We could always have a rough Jan & Feb weather-wise yet.

I'd take all the paint off prime it and paint it, don't just paint that section or it'll keep peeling and look lik

You should do it with Flat blk and use the kind that you paint the BBQ grill with it sticks better and longer than regular paint. Of course use primer and sandpaper

I did this on my last car (Eclipse) that had the same problem but i didn't prime it. It looked ok but after about a year the paint looked very different from the rest of the arm (i didnt do the whole thing). My question is if I prime the whole thing and spray it will it be good to go for at least a number of years, or do I need to sand everything off to get good adhesion? ALSO I see 3 types of paint listed: BBQ grill paint, flat black, and glossy black can someone with knowledge of the longevity of these different paints chirp in?

PS what is that grill paint called?

paint the whole arm. get the flat black industrial strength spray paint, it works great. just let it dry completely before you try to put the wipers on the arms.
